I mean I was used to all the hot women during my time at UH during the Keenum years.
Every time I walk on campus now, it isn’t the same anymore.
Maybe you’re more sober?
I wore glasses back then and I still wear them now.
We had hot women back then compared to now.
Heck I remember the TDECU/Fertitta in game host when she was a student lol.
They sold all their seats. The demand was there for that to happen. It takes time to build and it is clearly happening in basketball. What we did in the off season by releasing the seats held by scalping vendors worked and was on display in the first game.
My goodness we just had a crowd that took Arizona coming in after a huge road win vs LSU to get during the Penders era. And it was a weeknight game against a no body.
Anyone still complaining about the basketball attendance and using butts in the seats vs ticket sale arguments to relation to fan support is someone who just likes to complain.
We have had enough issues in the past with attendance than to create problems that don’t exist with this program. What we are doing now is like a dream come true and it is going to to get even better and be a harder ticket to get.
ofUniversity of Central Florida Diversity: Racial Demographics …
UCF ranks 703 out of 2,183 when it comes to geographic diversity. 7.84% of UCF students come …
Race /ethnicity | Number |
---|---|
White | 20,228 |
Hispanic | 12,300 |
Black or African American | 4,222 |
Asian | 2,922 |
Not sure what point you’re trying to make here.
Jim, that adds up to 39672 students, that’s over 31K less than their enrollment. What happened to the other 31K?
The Hispanic population at UH is greater than the White Population but I think Hispanics enjoy Football and Basketball as much as whites. The big difference I see is the Asian percent of the student body compared to UCF. Do Asians support sports as much as Blacks, Hispanics and Whites?
Given the population of CV3 and the people I see around the student section: yes
We need to keep in mind these other schools aren’t as diverse. You see a sea of a population out there. Their premium that they’re paying is for the experience they expect to be handed to them.
Keep UH diverse. Let everyone attend. Those interested will show. All it takes is a connection.
Yal are way overthinking it/forget the giant middle eastern population as well…
People like ranked games, case and point.
Also, one of the biggest super fans I ever met was a middle eastern indian
Gotta build it through the students. It has to be a building culture thing instilled in the students. Make it a fun event that they want to be a part of. That’s why I like the idea of a full time director with some budget to cultivate the growth of 10-20 strakeraks at ground roots level. Get them hooked. Don’t put the goal of doing this on the AD or a coach. Great and even better if you have a charismatic coach that joins in, but let coaches coach and recruit.
Then go after the alums that do show up. Give them an after game experience as well.
Right now they start tearing down everything 30 minutes before kickoff. It feels like your in
some small town that starts rolling up the sidewalks early.
Shouldn’t matter who the coach is, style of offense, opposition your playing, or your win loss
record. You come, attend, socialize , have fun for all the other things and the game just happens to
be in the middle of it.
30+ year old men are really on here commenting about how attractive female students should be?
Unpopular opinion:
You’re too old for them. Grow up.
No doubt ! Tdecu will be rocking. But those events of having a good team and ranked
opposition are not the norm. That does not line up for 6 days during every fall season.
If you plan for what is the exception, things will remain the same.
We used to do a thread dedicated to all the hot girls of the opposing school we would play during the game week back on the old Coogfans lol.
Always creepy.
Also, “30s” seems like a generous lowball on this board’s median age.
I was trying not to go so hard but I agree, 30’s is being generous. People like what they like I guess, but if people are wondering why they don’t look like they used to, it’s probably a natural indicator that “The Game” has passed them by. lol
As a counter opinion, this sounds more like a post on a highly religious site. Though, that is fair as each can have their own opinion. Only one person made a comment on attractiveness of women on a campus, and I expect most guys notice whether they comment or not.
As to the validity. People here are probably not looking for dates from college students (though someone in their early/mid 30s is not too old for a student in early/mid 20s), there is a point of discussion as the players and recruits are not in their 30s (or 70s). They probably notice when they attend games and campus tours. I truly doubt most players are truly focused on only the academic and R1 credentials of the schools they play for.
That said, I am not suggesting the schools should choose students based on looks. Just don’t believe post being “holier than thou” are helpful.
My post wasn’t intended to portray a holier than thou message. It was insight as to why some old dudes are out of touch. I’m not claiming to know everyone’s intentions; only the ones who explicitly make certain comments. That’s not a holier than thou take, it’s calling a spade a spade; people are allowed to make their own conclusions at that point. I don’t care, nor do I intend to be helpful in that context. It’s just my opinion.
You misunderstood my point. Again. Think of it this way, how would any of us (no matter our age) know what recruits notice if we have an inaccurate preconceived notion of what a young woman is supposed to look like? In fact, how do you even know the appearance of the average female student is a problem for young men in her age group? And let’s be honest, most men on here are well over 30 and most female students are 21 years of age or less. Like I said, you like what you like, but at some point there will be a breakdown in understanding due to the difference in age.
So many opportunities to point out what you think isn’t helpful. I don’t think you want to be defending what I’m pointing out. Think about it for a second.
