I get what you’re saying, but we played 3 games in a row to win the AAC tourney so I think we’ll be fine. Sasser played 39 minutes, Grimes 32 and Jarreau 34. Mark only played 15. Front court will be fresh.
Stupid scheduling to play the other game 7 hours earlier with just one day to recover but no time to whine. Not like there will be an asterisk if we lose.
What’s unusual about the times of the 2 games are that most tournaments give the higher seed the longer rest time between games
Hey look at it this way, we will be the first team in the final four.
They thought Illinois was going to be the team.
Guess they couldn’t adjust the schedule with only a week’s notice… although for the life of me, I do not know why. Maybe if we were a P5 team😎
This is revenge from when they beat us in the cbi 12 years ago! Lol
Too early !!
they have 1 day to sell those
Yep, I’ll save my money for the National Champions shirt.
putting unnecessary pressure on this game…
this oregon state game is really a legacy game for our players…
win or lose in the final 4… if we win tomorrow i think grimes’ jersey is almost guaranteed to hang in fertitta center at some point …no way an all-american/final 4/ POY isnt getting hung…it becomes really debatable otherwise and will be heavily influenced by what he does in the pros…
though it wouldnt be as certain as grimes i also think if we make the final 4, jarreau will have a strong case to hanghis jersey, especially with the rutgers and triple double game… there is very little case for him if we dont win tomorrow, outside of becoming an nba all-star
this game has that kind of weight…also crazy to think especially when both werent necessarily the most loved here just a little over a year ago especially dejon…
I’ll say it, this is the biggest UH basketball game of my lifetime. I wasn’t alive during the PSJ days and only remember the 2000’s era of Cougar basketball. To say I am beyond excited is an understatement don’t think there is a word to describe it. I grew up hearing about the good ole days of Cougar basketball and listening to my family tell stories but now it’s time to write some new stories! Go Coogs!
PS: If any of y’all have anymore stories of Cougar basketball I would love to hear them!
At this point I am ok with whatever happens.
Coogs favored by 8 tomorrow evening. Seems Vegas handicaps the teams better than the NCAA seeding committee.
The impact of making the Elite 8 just hit me. CBS showed the tournament bracket following USC-Oregon and at first I thought it was half of the bracket and then realized that’s it and Houston is right there.
What remains of the bracket fits on one screen shot. And there are our Houston Cougars.
They don’t have crooked vested ($$$$) interest that the committee has.
our presser was only about 4 hours ago, while their presser was about 13 hours ago…
but from their presser, when it was given, it looks like they arent familair with us at all… says they are going to look at film later on in the day… but gives some generic response that grimes is a great player… looks like they didnt prescout anyone and figuring it all out the day prior…
our presser is obviously way later, but sampson gave indetail responses about them, back stories and connection to certain players, dejon was giving strenghts they have .
their game was the 1pm game yesterday, they had like a 8 hour head start on us
Agree that their on ball pressure is solid, they close out in the perimeter, they play physical and their bigs jam up the paint. IMO there defense is better than Memphis. We will need to get them in foul trouble early and keep a lid on Lucas. This one will be a brawl, so saddle up.
