2017 Roster possibilities

Heard from a solid source that Whitting decided to tell a number of players to move on. It isn’t the first day of school for the fall semester yet, but I checked the campus directory to see what players weren’t on it from the list I had; couldn’t find the following:

  • Gino Marucci
  • Jordan Stading
  • Marshall Kasowski
  • Nathan Jackson
  • Clay Casey
  • Cooper Coldiron
  • Tanner Lawson
  • Riley Richert
  • Kyle Fowler

Coldiron and Fowler should be incoming and may be enrolled (there was a mistake in the directory for “Cooper,” and “Fowler,”. Could be that they also didn’t enroll over the summer and will show up in the next couple of weeks when the directory is updated for the Fall. Kasowski, Casey, and Lawson have all been in Summer Ball (although, Nolan Bond was with Kasowski and is in the Directory). Again, I only know that one of these listed will definitely not be in Houston next season - Nathan Jackson. Will have to monitor the rest.

Stading, Marucci, and N Jackson just can’t help this team in 2016. Sounds like the push to 35 players is fully underway.

I would be fairly surprised if Casey and Marshall K do not return. No thoughts on any of the freshmen you listed.

New roster out and Casey and Kasowski are not returning as very few are. Counted 12 players returning from last year’s squad. Whitting has definitely thrown down the gauntlet as to what is acceptable at this program.

I’ll try to put together a more detailed post when I have more time later tonight.
