Crossing my fingers and toes we can get Simon Landry and Devon Roedahl on campus. Super excited about both those guys.

Definitely. Next 10 rounds will be key. Guys that go after the 20th round are much more likely to return.

Really a testament to Whiting that this team didn’t have anybody drafted in the top 10 rounds and yet we made it as far as we did last year in the NCAA tournament while also winning the conference.

Only draft where you hope your players don’t get drafted high! lol. Unless of course they have no eligibility left. I do like this draft system though, gives players the power to make the correct decision instead of counting on projections or the vast amounts of bad advice from friends/family to go pro.

Almost 30 rounds in and Joe is still on the board. Sure hope he thinks he’s better than that and decides to come back and prove it. Simon Landry went in the 22nd. His juco coach says he’s a top 10 round talent. Hope Landry feels the same and wants to come prove it, too. The idea of those two in the same lineup makes me giddy.

Awesome that Joey is gonna get a shot at pro baseball despite being (generously) 5’8"-5’9". An insanely critical player to this year’s team.

Joe Davis undrafted? I wonder if he told teams he was coming back so they passed on him. Still would be worth a 40th round pick you would think.

Imagine this line-up next year:

C- Lovelace
1B- Landry or Davis
2B- Gochenour
SS- Hyland
3B- Triolo
LF- Bielo/Etzel/Minter/another newcomer
CF- Padgett
RF- Bielo/Lockhart
DH- Davis/Landry/Lockhart

The rotation will be interesting with some of the returning guys (Randel, Henry, Aguilar, maybe a fully-healthy Villareal) and some of the guys slated to come in (Roedahl, Guth). I think this team contends for the league title.
