For anyone keeping score… Xavier is 17-12 overall, has lost 5 in a row and is 6-16 since the new year. Why does this team deserve an at large bid?
They still have to beat the mighty Georgetown tomorrow……my goodness how far has that program fallen.
Sad to see.
They’re only getting in cause its a power conference. People have barely started to remove Indiana from the field after 5 awful weeks
A rematch with Wisconsin would be nice if we were in that bracket.
Regarding Penny, I think it depends on a few things.
What does he want to do and how long does he want to do it? I’m sure he has asked himself this year more than once if all of this is worth it. He made mistakes with the roster in trying to turn the team over to a 17 year old. Granted this was a kid on the cover of SI when he was a 14 year old and was supposed to be the next KD. So I see why he tried to make it work.
But it absolutely killed morale of a few of the returnees (Nolley, Quinones) and combined with injuries and Covid, it was a disaster. Nolley is now starting and feeling good about himself and the team has settled into a groove. I think Penny sees the value in upper class men transfers as opposed to 17 year old all stars. I think he has improved as a coach (although so many turnovers make me wonder) and I think the investment of four years could pay off. No one we hire will ever recruit on Penny’s level so I think you roll the dice for another year or two and see what happens. Penny loves his hometown and really wants to give the city the winner it has craved since Cal left. We’ll see where it goes. It will not be boring!
All good my Brother!! #GoCoogs
None of the prognosticators will actually seed the teams. We just don’t have any idea.

Even this one who has had the Coogs on the #5 seed line for 2+ weeks , now has them in the #4 slot. Good week for the Coogs in more ways than one.
Imo using my Committee eyes-- if Coogs win Sunday they will lock up a #4 Seed. Potential for #3 if they Win the CT or make to the CShip gm.
If we end the year 3-4 in Q1 we are a 4 and maybe even a 3 depending on if UVA can bounce into Q2.
The money he gets to hand out helps with recruiting….if there was no cash his recruiting would sink like a rock…… who wants to play on an underachieving team that rarely makes the dance….kids are smart….they want to play in the dance.
Tomorrow’s games for teams that were ahead or tied w/ (14) Houston in the latest AP rankings:
11 Villanova vs Butler.
14 Arkansas vs 13 Tennessee.
8 Purdue vs Indiana.
South Carolina vs 5 Auburn.
7 Kentucky vs Florida.
12 Texas Tech vs Oklahoma State.
21 Texas vs 6 Kansas.
California vs 2 Arizona.
Iowa State vs 3 Baylor.
North Carolina vs 4 Duke.
An Okie St. win would be REALLY nice.
Good post!!
Butler too!!
OK ST + Butler + Tennessee blowout win probably gets us to 11th and stay on the 4 line if we win Sunday.
Wisconsin plays last placed Nebraska while Providence is done for the regular season so i doubt we can jump into the T10
Palm is also one of the least accurate bracketologists so lets just stop circulating his trash brackets
The committee had us 17th and we’ve won out since so we’d be closer to a 4 than a 6. I think OK ST moving up to Q1 has a bit to do with that too.
Only way I see us falling to a 6 is if we lost to Memphis and get upset in the AAC Quarters + we end the year with 0 Q1 wins
Multiple people have stated that Palm is lazy, inaccurate and biased…… but that guy is going to use him on here every time because it shows us in the most negative light.
