Next season is looking great, you can feel the excitement….equally important is that the staff is building the foundation to be successful from the get go in Big 12.
Not saying we are gonna win conference first year in, but if next year’s recruiting( and I think it will be even better) is on par with this year we will be very competitive our first year.
Only thing that annoys me is our weak home schedule. I know we can’t control it but I wish we had some big games at home. Our away schedule will not be easy. UTSA, Tech, Memphis, SMU, navy is always brutal
CD Deondre Dansbury hits the portal. This late in the year it must be a performance issue. Guys are starting to understand their likely playing time.
Plus he would need a waiver to even played with a new team this late of a transfer. Heard is extremely difficult to get it approved.
How we do our first year in the B12 will largely depend on whomever replaces Tune at QB. I know Coley is assumed by many to be the successor, but I am not anointing him yet. Holman Edwards will be a junior in his 3rd year in the system and could possibly be the guy. On the other hand, who knows what the portal and the class of 23 will bring? It should be a good competition.

Now, when we say that it’s “dependent “ I hope it’s between 9-10 wins if it’s good to at least 6-7 even if it’s average.
That would mean the other player positions on the team are performing at a Big 12 level.
If we got average QB play, won 6-7 games and played in a minor bowl our first year in I would be more than satisfied…… anything above that would exceed my expectations.

Those are my thoughts as of now….but part of it is based on the unknown….a year from today after seeing how we play this year and how recruiting/portal goes next off season my expectations might be higher.
I feel like if the recruiting takes another step in the right direction and we are able to keep our assistants then yes we could be a 9-10 win team….just too many ifs and buts right now for me.
