2023 Big 12 Football Schedule

The plan for UT to come to UH was based on UT having two more years in the conference. If that gets negotiated down to one, the schedule changes. I believe that’s why the schedule hasn’t been released yet. The two year schedule is different from the One Final Year schedule.

The Longhorns playing at Houston means they are not playing at one of the 8 legacy members. The current plan is that everybody plays everybody at least one time in the two years of overlap. However, if UT and OU are only going to be around for one final season, the 4 or 5 teams scheduled to have UT come to their stadium may want to hold on to that game.

Also, it might be subject to early exit negotiations. “We will agree to these terms under one condition: We don’t have to play in any of the newbies’ stadiums.” … not sure the conference lets that stand in the way of a more lucrative exit buyout.

2b) It’s possible the entire plan to have them come to Houston was meant as negotiation leverage for just this purpose. If you want them to pay a lot of extra money to leave early, one way to push that along is to make more unhappy their experience in the last couple of years. I don’t think this is the case, but it’s possible.

So basically we’re making money for the conference even before becoming an official member. Who say our football program didn’t bring any values to B12. LOL

Law school definitely benefits from being in Houston instead of Lubbock. One of the reasons we were so hostile to the A&M-STCL partnership.

Did they end up forming a partnership?

My recollection is we effectively blocked it.

I’m not following. If we accept that the unconfirmed schedule you posted is legit, the BYU/Oklahoma game would be a home game for Oklahoma.

I mean as in at least one of UT and OU has to go to all of the new teams’ stadiums.

How much extra are they going to make us pay for the Texas tickets? And will that game be at TDECU if a home matchup?

It better be at TDECU stadium!!

Yormark is letting it be known that OUT doesn’t control anything Big12 related. Love it!!

BYU at WVU on Oct 21st. That series could be played in a couple of very beautiful places…and as bad as we might be the scenery might be the most interesting part of the event.

The TX governor needs to get involved and force UT and ATM to play Houston in football. Both teams owe UH.

2002 and 1995 are eons ago. If the governor played a role in 1994 they should do it again today

Baylor won the conference in ‘74. In ‘75, the year before we entered, there was a three-way tie between Arkansas, UT, and A&M. Arkansas went to the Cotton Bowl because they hadn’t been in the longest time. They beat Georgia.

Plenty of oil companies, unscrupulous ranchers, dirty land men, irresponsible frackers, and would-be water barons to sue out there
