" Depth chart is largely based on the following articles written by [Joseph Duarte]:
I think that’s close. Here’s my guess based on Duarte’s articles and what I’ve heard.
WR M Golden, P Sawyer
WR S Brown, S Johnson
WR J Manjack, J Cobbs
LT P Paul, S Hobdy-Lee
LG T Johnson, M Banes
OC J Freeman, D Hunter
RG T Jenkins, P Dunn
RT R Unije, T Garth
TE M Byrnes, L Compton/M O’Loughlin
QB D Smith, L Coley
RB T Mathis, S Sneed/B Campbell
DE N Caesar, Z Strong
NT C Nwanko, J Hunt
DT S Williams, J Caldwell/A Holmes
DE D Ugwoegbu, N Tucker
LB M Robinson, A Smith/T Payne
LB T Cheeks, H Hypolite/J Morris
CB A Hogan, I Hamilton
CB M Alexander, B George
S A Haulcy, J Gaston
S N Guzman, J Shaw/J Stanford/J Barbas
S A Brooks, M Welch
Offensive depth is off at reciever and rb
I like Sneed at RB
I think safety and CB can still be fluid
Receivers looks good to me though some of our new comers can certainly get in the mix.
I think Sneed starts at RB. And I can’t see Robison beating out Hypolite, Smith, or Morris. But we always start out suspect with our depth chart lol
Duarte is not the greatest source. He’s fair at best.
Adequate is what he is aiming for.
Robinson started the two games before he was injured last year. He’s a good player. I could also see Sneed starting.
But we have now moved Hypolite to LB who was starting at safety. We aren’t moving him to LB his last year if he’s coming off the bench. No way he would agree to that. If we are bringing him off bench then why not just keep him after S where we actually need a body. Also morris outplayed Robinson. Smith was starting for CU in their spring game he’s really talented. I don’t see Robinson starting unless he greatly improved. Or unless our coaches do their seniority thing. But think I think he will eventually get beat out
I don’t know who will be starting or backing up; but if the 4 star players aren’t starting the question is are they staying? I would hate to be a coach in this era of NIL and transfer portal.
Could be. I just know that Robinson was the starter over Morris before he was injured. But Morris may have passed him. We’ll see. The guy from Colorado is intriguing. I also think Trimarcus Cheeks played really well the second half of the season; in fact, there were times I thought he was our best linebacker. Well, good problems to have with so much depth at the position.
Hamilton starts at CB.
Robinson is probably the surest bet to start.
Because he is much better closer to the line than in space
There’s going to be a problem if Pilot isn’t in the mix at WR
I think it comes down to who the QB1 is and what receivers he’s comfortable with.
Yea but I’m sure he will be. He will see the field, too talented not to.
Good to see you yesterday.
Knowing our staff probably. But I don’t see him as the starter once the year goes on. Too many talented players in that group. I’d bet Hypolite starts, I just don’t see him agreeing to move positions his last year and go from starter to reserve. Also Hypolite it’s just the better player. Then I think Cheeks or Morris will be next to him. With Smith right there.
Great to see you. Come by more often
