Maybe, just maybe if Sampson passes on any athlete it’s because all our spots are filled.
And besides, IMO Jarace Walker is going to be the hardest guy to replace.
Yes losing a first team AA guard will sting, but at least we have some talented players to fill in there.
But filling the shoes of a guy who can do the things Walker does is a whole different ball game

100% agree. We know Sampson will never lack for guards. But Jarace Walker? Those don’t grow on trees.

If Jarace were to play 3 years under CKS, he would become one of the all-time UH players.

I’m really hoping this run with Jarace will open the eyes of other high level recruits/transfers to come here. The high level guys who are more interested in improving their game rather than how much NIL $$$ they can make have been hard to come by. Jarace is living proof that a projected lottery pick can not only improve that status, but also win big in college and shore up some weaknesses in their game. The move to the Big 12 shouldn’t hurt that either.

Not too long ago, Rothstein was tweeting that “there is so much Yao Ming in Zach Edey.” I nearly spit my drink. Yao was infinitely more athletic than Edey. The only thing remotely similar is their height.

I put this under the category of any publicity is good publicity. Most of these transfers will never get to see campus. But, by having our name out there on a regular basis keeps us in the collective minds of transfer players and where they would consider going. Some of whom we might actually been interested in having come to play here.

Totally agree.
Catch and shoot guy that can hit around the 40% mark….would make us so much tougher to defend with two guys like that on the court at once.
