We went through our schedule successfully because the teams in the AAC, and most OOC teams we played, weren’t good enough to score on our defense and we outrebounded them, especially on the offensive boards which gave us enough 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chance points.
We won’t be able to get away with that in the B12, there are other teams that can rebound and defend. We need to have more consistent shooting it into the basket on the 1st chance. Miami showed that packing the paint really affects our offense and offensive rebounding. I would bet that was not lost on the other coaches watching that game and listening to the Miami coach’s explanation.
We need to adapt to the changing tide we will be swimming against.

Yup, I hope we are devouring the transfer portal. Get 1-2 HS elites and rest should be from the transfer portal. That’s the new formula for success.

We have brought in 4 really good HS players for this freshman class. I include Lath in the incoming class even though he came in between semesters as an early HS graduate and is considered a redshirt. We have a transfer from TT in Mylik Wilson who redshirted this season. At this time we have room for one more scholarship player, though that could change if anyone transfers out. If we get another transfer, I wonder if it would be a shooter or a big that can could command the middle.

Not really this was one of the first times Sampson had a first shot offense in a while. We were top 50 in FG% this year. Around 46-47% which is really good in college.

We seemed to slow it down more this year. Maybe its perception but both Arceneaux and Sharp seem to shoot better in the first 15 seconds of the shot clock.
