Caleb Love from NC to transfer, would love to have him.
He goes hot and he goes cold. Maybe in a more isolated environment as a catch and shoot type player he could be more efficient. But he won’t want that. I think he could be so much better if he learned when to shoot and when to distribute the ball. That’s why he’s so inefficient. He’s alway been like that and got hot last tournament.
In his freshman year his 3p% was 26%, Sophomore year was 36%, and this year was a 29.9%. Watched UNC this year and Love played hero ball too much. I don’t know if he did it more this year because of the run last year or what. He is a good player. Could be a great player if he improved his situational basketball IQ. Unfortunately, he just doesn’t fit for us as much as I would like to see UH try it out.
I don’t know if he is a good culture fit here. Too much hero ball and it seems like UNC fans are happy that he is leaving.
Y’all think we should get Caleb love? Could be an excellent replacement for Sasser
Not really. He was awful last year before his hot streak at the end of last year and he shot chucked UNC out of the tourney down the stretch this year
too much noise about love to not think there isn’t some back door deal already in place for him… jcoop noted memphis earlier, idk… but money is moving somewhere
you don’t leave being the star at UNC without reason
Speaking of noise i think its good news its quiet around Cullen. I remembered when Kyler Edwards committed it came out of no where along w/Carlton & Taze.
Difference is we have an NIL program along w/Gallery Furniture & possibly uncle Tilman.
yup, it was always quiet, then boom out of nowhere players appeared
I’m not a fan of this NIL deal with transfers. It’s getting old very fast and it’s only going to get worse.
Only way to keep up with others.
Unless you’re just okay with Sweet 16 appearances, more power to you ![]()
Ha Ha Ha. I sure as he!! hope that UH is able to sustain it’s ongoing series of Sweet 16 appearances.
lol yea as nice as it is being at a point where losing in the sweet sixteen is a disappointment now, NIL is probably our best bet at getting over the hump
You can’t make the final four if you don’t make the sweet 16.

Yes but if he could get open looks next year he could shoot it at a high percentage. Even if he isn’t a top shooter if he gets clean looks and can hit them then thats alright. I would only be worried if he went cold.I know he’s not a like Jordan Hawkins (the best shooter in the country), but he’d certainly bring some shooting to the team next year and he’ll be a veteran presence. And he’s a JUCO transfer which I like. Those guys can be gritty.
Miami is unfortunately proving that buying players works.
Cause folks with nil’s are still transferring - there will always be an excuse for these players to bounce around
id agree with a lot of your points in the circumstance of bring walton or bring no one… walton would bring benefits to this team …
my point was that we already have a ton of guards on the roster (likely wont bring a lot in), 2 of the starter spots are already taken. neither are great shooters, our as is projected starting 4 and projected starting 5 cant shoot… i dont want to bring in a “okay shooter”… this team desperately needs a elite shooter… we need a hawkins type shooter…
guard lineup for next years
- jamal - meh shooter
- tramon - meh shooter
- mylik- bad shooter
- ramon - poor shooter
- arcenueax- meh shooter
- sharp- good shooter but has to work on his fundamentals
- recruit - kordelius - meh shooter
big lineup
- jwan - doesnt shoot at all (but has some potential)
- francis- no likely 3pt shooting capability (for next year)
- recruit - tugler- likely wont shoot at all as a freshmen
- recruit- mcfarland - likely wont shoot at all as a freshmen
- recruit - lath - might not shoot a single 3 in his entire career here
we are the #2 team in the nation, sassers NIL deal totals was likely 500k+ … we can pick up an elite shooter
2 and out at best as we stand! ![]()
Ok I agree with your assessment. I do think we need an elite shooter to open up and improve the offense. Jaykwon isn’t the first choice guy.
But the question is who would be? Who could we get from the transfer portal?
I’ve looked at Myles Stute and he’s a good shooter but don’t know if I’d call him elite. And the Vanderbilt fans I’ve seen have said something has been off with him and his shot has been off. I also don’t like how he left the team before the SEC tournament.
The only other one I know of is Quincy Olivar. I feel like we would have a good pitch for him. Gets to stay in the same city but be in better competition.
