Heard a podcast that CKS said he fired our previous strength coach

1st year we made the NCAA tournament, was Bishop’s 1st yr at UH

Our teams were getting more talented, w/ better recruiting

But the jump in Defensive Efficiency from 2016-17 season to 2017-18. Top 80 defense to Top 20.

Yes, Corey Davis Jr, helped w/ that. But the team conditioning & toughness took a big jump with Bishop

I think Mercys fr year will be similar to sharps. Where he has some ups and downs but the ups are really high. Going on 8-0 runs by himself. I remember watching Sharp his freshman year thinking he’s going to get 10+ the next year and start. I think mercy has a similar path.

Very much a big12 freshman first team candidate. Can be a dark horse for freshman of the year in conference but I just don’t know if he gets the PT to do it. Especially considering whose coming in

No disrespect to Sharp but he came in recovering from a major injury and was a bit rusty. I think Mercy is going to be efficient and knows his strengths from weaknesses early on. He’s a straight dog who probably moves a bit better than Sharp, too!

I was expecting arceneaux to have gotten much bigger by now up top. Especially, with the leg injury. Hopefully he’s much stronger.

Yeah I don’t think the way they play will be that similar but I think the impact they have on the team will be. Sharp gave us a big boost quite a few times throughout the season his freshman year. I think mercy will be that too, but we have 7 guys in front of him now. Only so many minutes and shots to go around.
