I meant like our team media say. Not big12 media day. I saw teams posting new uniforms and stuff like smu and tech.

Man, can you imagine what that first scrimmage is like for the new guys? I don’t care how good they are, there’s no way they can be mentally ready for that war.

I really think coach brings in kids that are fully aware of what it’s going to be like.
The probably have seen us play in person and even seen practice.
Plus you know they get an earful from current players.

Yeah, I know they’re aware, but they don’t KNOW until they try to go into that lane or get a loose ball and they end up on the bottom of a pile wondering what just happened.

I agree but I think it is more accurate to say he brings in players that he believes will buy into the character of our program. I think it is hard for them to truly understand until they are in it. Every player won’t make it but the majority do and those individuals are ALL IN. Even those like Carlton, Taze, Edwards and Walker who were just here a season were completely entrenched in the HOUSTON way that season.

I think GoCoogs.com or Chris Baldwin could do a sit down with Arcenaux about how the injury changed him

I’ve definitely noticed it. Seems like hes alot more serious on the court/during workouts

Missing almost a full season, can give you a different perspective on the sport you love. Im curious if Terrance would elaborate on that later this season

Add Tugler & Mylik to the Red Team. And thats probably your rotation to start the season. 9 dudes.

Its true theres not enough minutes because it looks like a rotation of 12 or 13.

Sounds about right. Kind of sucks though that McFarland wouldn’t crack the rotation, I’m really looking forward to seeing him play. Mercy too. However this is a STACKED rotation

What’s wrong with Tuglers knee now?

Looks like a basic wrap from the picture knowing our practices probably a bruise, but maybe a little tendonitis. At least that’s what I’ve used those wraps for on myself.

Also JoJo if you’re reading this, I’m feeling the side burns you’ve grown out. The little goatee not so much, but those halfway to the 70’s side burns are a big :+1:

So who would be the starting five?

That is yet to be determined and will likely change from time to time during the season depending upon matchups with opponents. Not too important as many others will likely see minutes.

Javier
Jwan
Sharp (most games)
Cryer
Milo

Arcenaux will start some games too.

I doubt there is ever a game Sharp doesn’t start. I think he’s the best player on the team.

This. Listen to the latest No Conference for Old Men podcast where they interviewed Coach Bishop. He said kids come here because they want to work. He had very high praise for Milos, Mercy and Chase as far as work ethic. I think the vast majority of these kids come in eyes wide open because our staff is super honest about what it takes. That’s why we don’t see mass transfers every year like other programs.

I can see Francis having a huge break out year, but even if he does, I don’t think we’re going with a 3 big man rotation. It will be 4 with McFarland added in. Out of those 4, 3 of them (Roberts, McFarland and JoJo) can play the 4, so I think we’ll see different combinations, but I can’t see us only using 3 guys down low all year. And I’m not including small ball 4 sets. I think Sampson will use those a lot depending on health and situation, but I’m talking strictly conventional big man rotation.

Sharp is starting every game.
