2024-2025 Houston Cougars Basketball Season

What did the Baylor fans say in the tweet?

I feel the same way.

Photo shoot Day.

Don’t blame them. LJ’s a good player. If Sasser had transferred out of the program and spent his final two seasons at Baylor, we’d be salty too.

Is the small Jordan patch finally gone :crossed_fingers:or just out of focus?

It’s there around his left shoulder

the 2024 banner on the very right is hung at a different height and it bothers me.

Originally posted this in the wrong thread, so I’m moving it here.

Evan Miya has UH as his #1 over all team.

He has J’Wan #28 un BPR (offensive + defensive), Francis at #5 in DBPR, and LJ at #26 in OBPR.

Looking deeper at Houston, his player rankings seem a bit whack to me. Guess we’ll see.

Season tickets arrive Thursday! It will be interesting to see the secondary market.

Of course, my name was spelled wrong on the email. I replied to get it corrected, figuring that is why I had issues buying football tickets last month. Nope…name is spelled correctly on my account. How on earth is a mass generated email to season ticket holders not automated? Amazing.

This is the interview where CKS mentioned that TA was being watched during practice. It sounds like he learned last year that the guys will push through injuries to stay on the court. I’m amazed that JoJo played with a broken foot in the Baylor game, and LJ broke his foot in Baylor and played through the injury last year.

Lengthy interview, but still good questions. CKS is awesome to listen to and candid as always. Also interesting to hear from Coach Lanier trying to build a Program at Rice, and Coach Pearl had great things to say about Houston.

Busy day, as the times for every game have now been set for the 2024-2025 season.

Lj looks a little heavy. Idk if its the muscle he put on but i swear he was skinnier.

He gained ALOT of muscle
Will be curious to see how it affects his game

Armoni range? Better finishing through physicality in the paint? Prayerfully, longevity throughout the season

Shooter dont need muscle… many shooters actually avoid weights in fear of it affecting their shot…

With how LJ plays on offense there is actually almost no benefit to him gaining muscle… i actually thought about how ironic it was, he is the one gaining all the muscle but the player the muscle is least beneficial to on the team. He mostly shoots 3 and avoids contact on drives (long floaters)… With the risk of the muscle slowing him down or affecting his shot.

Its a huge plus if lj decided he wants to attack the post more and draw fouls, but i dont think that will be his game, even in that video posted above, he is just working on long floaters

the big potential benefit is defense… that’s where the muscle can help. It could take him from an okay defender to really great defense… it could really help him develop a jamal shead style of bullying defense… this is where there are potential huge gains to be had with the muscle

If done right, and every indication to me is we have a top notch development and training staffs, this can be advantageous without it effecting the shot. The key is to just keep the ball in your hands daily and put up hundreds of shots throughout the training sessions.
This is nothing to worry about. The if he comes back with 5-10 lbs of extra muscle and a healthy foot then look out. I think he can be everything Corey Davis was and more. He’s more fluid off the bounce and can be a potent mid range player as well as a long range bomber.

Not super concerned with it “slowing him down” as we mostly play half court offense anyways, our game has never really been transition offense anyways. The extra muscle could help him on the defensive end which is not a bad thing. I agree that it hopefully doesn’t affect his shot a whole lot though. If he puts in the shooting work while gaining the muscle you would think he would get used to his body to make any adjustments needed

Knowing zero about playing or shooting, does the extra leg muscle help with shooting? You always hear about tired legs affecting 3pt shots… does the extra muscle help?

Got my season tickets and parking to load on my cellphone wallet. I am ready for a NCAA championship this season .
