Jim Mora talking about NIL and recruiting

Boy he slurred the hell out of North Carolina State lol

And therein lies one of UH’s biggest problems - our low level of fan support in the way of attendance and NIL funding. So in essence he says that fans don’t have the right to ā€œb-wordā€ when their team loses to better funded programs.

i can only imagine what some folks on here would say if CDH made a similar comment about UH fans not having the right to ā€œb-wordā€ about losing to the better funded programs on our schedule…

Coach Mora right to the point…it’s no longer the college football we loved, it’s straight up NFL Lite, all about the $$$. Pandora’s Box has been opened, IMO, the innocence of the game is basically gone. Players and coaches will have to deal with the wrath of being looked at as pros now. That layer of respect as Student Athletes will mostly evaporate…I HATE it…pure greed killing a beautiful game and atmosphere

Friends:
247 is showing eight players. Eight players with 17 to 19 seniors?
Another glaring stat:
UCF with nine, yes nine four stars players and eight three stars players.

UCF is similar to U of H.
My question to Pezman and Fertitta is why is UCF so much better than us at recruiting?
Is mickey mouse handling disneyworld coupons to parents so their sons can come?
That is the question I would like to know. Both schools come from the AAC and they are so much better than us. Something is not right and this is all too obvious.

It is telling that you write two things that aren’t true.

  1. I present facts in the form of data repeatedly whereas you have a feeling and then throw up your feeling all over everyone repeatedly.
  2. I have said a. I think it is time to move on from Dana and b. I I don’t support Dana but I will debunk false narratives based on feelings rather than data or a feeling based on one piece of data with zero context.

Show us where you present facts.

What kind of data would you like exactly?

It is a fact this team is going to finish worst of every new school.
It is a fact that we are #101 in recruiting.

It is a fact this coach and his staff are rarely prepared for a game.
It is a fact they have been out coached.

It is a fact we lost to Rice.

It is a fact we got beat 41-0 by a slightly above average team.

It is a fact this coach throws players and coaches under the bus.
It is a fact he makes absurd excuses weekly.

I have listed these.

So please, tell me which one of these is not true.

How in the world is this ā€œthrowing up my feelingsā€?

Sounds to me like you are the one with pent up feelings sir.

Thank you for proving me correct.

You know KFD,

When you made the initial post about the emotions and the throw up I thought you had me mixed up with another poster……that’s why at one point I asked which post you were responding to….

I honestly think you got me mixed up with someone else but whatever I guess.

You have been a poster I respected for a long time and I remember having some good baseball talk with you….

On this deal here I’m just going leave it.

CDH considers himself a CEO type head coach. A CEO’s job is not just to build a great product (which CDH hasn’t done). It’s also his job to build a culture and to make sure the product gets sold. It’s his job to raise money through sales and through getting people to invest. It’s his job to make sure that talent comes in the door and is developed.

You can complain all you want about customers not giving support or buying the product, but it’s your job to make them want to do that. CDH not only hasn’t provided a good product, he hasn’t done any of the other items needed ti be successful.

Frankly I do not understand why Fertitta is not concerned by it.

Is the recruiting problem as simple as not being able to close the deal? Or are we aiming too low in our targets? Not enough NIL? Not putting in enough time to build relationships? Has anyone actually talked to these kids and asked them why they are not coming to UH?

Sometimes recruiting rankings can be mitigated by coaching up the players, but I’m not sure that’s happening here. It seems to me that the number one focus of a college coach these needs to be internal and external recruiting, talent evaluation, and roster management. Leave the X’s and O’s to the coordinators. Regardless of whether Dana is or isn’t going to be replaced, we really need to step up our game in finding guys who can actually recruit. As has been true for decades, this is a talent-rich area and recruiting rankings like this are an embarrassment.

If we were aiming low, I’d think we have more commits. Maybe he’s aiming high and recruiting players he can’t get. Or maybe he’s just a bad and/or lazy recruiter

All of the above can be true lol. We’ve just heard this tune about what a goldmine this area is forever and no one has been able to make this a reality for (insert reason here). I’m sure the answer is different for every kid, but why aren’t they coming? I talk to zero high school football players over the course of the day so I have no idea what they are thinking these days. Big bad Texas and A&M have only so many scholarships to give.

Yah I could care less that he used the b word, I just thought it was funny that he couldn’t say North Carolina State. Fan support could be better. Beating teams like Rice would probably help with that.

Why with all those other points do you have to exaggerate and call K-State ā€œslightly above averageā€? They are a very good team. They won the conference last year and are currently top 20 and a play away from going back to the conference championship.
