yes
Edit: looks like st Joe’s dropped out and was replaced by Maryland
Where was Bryce playing? I like the Mo mural on the wall.
Fonde league
Ridiculous playing FSU at Toyota Center. That game should be at Fertitta where we once again have a lame OOC schedule.
I look for a small crowd at Toyota Center.
Seems they are struggling to garner interest in the Toyota games. Wonder if there was a deal for FSU to play rice last season and they could play us this season in return.
This CBS article gives some clarity on all the movement in the tournament.
It’s interesting that A&M was dropped and replaced by Maryland because of the Buzz Williams move, and St. Joe’s was replaced by UNLV, but will still play for some NIL money in Vegas.
Two benefits to UH playing at Toyota Center.
-
UH can attract a name opponent who might be agreeable to playing UH on a neutral court that UH doesn’t have to travel. UH needs a name OOC opponent for NCAA seeding purposes and this is the next best thing to playing at Fertitta Center.
-
UH gets more experience playing in NBA arenas that mimic playing in the early rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
Notwithstanding the above, I wish UH was playing FSU at Fertitta Center. That place would be rocking.
What Tilman wants Tilman gets…
Haha… Suck it Ags!
If this is what’s behind it, then he’s starting to look at things like whoever is backing the baseball coach. That’s not a good thing.
It’s my understanding Tillman is currently not involved in athletics at all.
He’s probably like… "y’all can’t move one game from the :ahem, cough:… Fertitta Center to Toyota Center…
Tilman might was well do an annual Big 12/SEC challenge among UH/Tech/Baylor/TCU vs UT/LSU/A&M/Ark if he wanted to make serious money.
It’s wild the difference in those coaches. Had to look up several of them to see how their career has went and let’s just say it’s not a pretty read
Who do you think is backing our athletic program? We are just this month fully funded in the B12 and it is not enough.
We’re not fully funded until next year
OK?
But the way you help a program cover more of its own expenses is not to take away a home game to line your own pockets.
For the record, I don’t think this is what’s happening because I don’t see TF rolling like that. I have a hard time seeing him do anything that would knowingly cost us money. I was just responding to a previous suggestion that this is what’s behind the games at Toyota Center.
