Haven’t seen a Coogs social media video posted on X in a while, so good to see the guys hooping in this one!
Looks like there’s a J’wan sighting on Campus.

Actually the neutral site games generate extra revenue for the program since they aren’t on the season tickets. It sucks but this is something that’s being done by all major programs.
The UH socials have been highlighting a lot of Ramon Walker lately. Wonder if he’ll play a bigger role than we thought
They only generate excess revenue if they sell a bunch of tickets, because there isn’t any parking or concessions revenue, and the ticket sales don’t all go back to the school.
If neutral site games were that profitable, we’d move more games away from FC.
We have moved more games away from FC. We’re playing 3 non-MTE neutral site games this year. That’s the most we’ve done.
Yeah, but is that because they’re more profitable or because of opponents’ demands and/or scheduling things that push us into “tournaments”?
What other home games did we move to Toyota Center by choice for next season?
Yes its because they’re profitable. We sell out our home arena regardless because of season ticket sales. So we can actually generate more revenue off of these “marquee” games if we put them at a neutral site that’s excluded from the season ticket package. We’re hardly the only program doing this. These neutral site series and “classics” have been taking off for several years now. Its something that every fan base complains about.
Edit: Also I think you’re overstating how much we make off parking/concessions. Most season ticket holders have an annual pass so they aren’t spending on parking each game. And then with concessions, you still have to pay your overhead/cost. So even if 7k people come in and spend $30 each, that isn’t actually 210,000 in profit. Its significantly lower.
So what other home games were moved to Toyota Center?
Neutral-site games outside of Houston as part of MTEs aren’t the same thing as taking away home games - completely different discussion.
For example, some of these tournaments are specifically for “NIL” payouts. These aren’t “profitable” from the standpoint of athletic department revenue. They’re just necessities to help NIL efforts.
I don’t care about games that weren’t going to be in FC to begin with. It’s moving a non-conference home game to Toyota Center that sucks. But whatever - I just won’t go to them.
Yah I mentioned non-MTE games. Arkansas, FSU, and Auburn are all being played at neutral sites. That’s all of our “marquee” games.
Edit: I’m not telling you to go to the games if you don’t want, just trying to help you understand what’s motivating us to schedule them in the first place
Lol
You can lol all you want but what im saying is true. College sports is a business, if you don’t think money is a motivating factor in this then you’re pretty naive. Lmao
What are you even going on about?
Good thing we were able to get out of the AAC and join the Big XII. Definitely increased our winning percentage.
Helped UConn as well.
