Yeah… we always scrimmage Beard…
Hopefully no one freaks out if we don’t win the scrimmage. People should realize these scrimmages are used to evaluate players and give guys opportunities to compete, learn, and grow. The final score isn’t really relevant.
I doubt CKS feels that way… but it’s all unofficial anyway.

The final score is the least consequential piece he looks at but can still be used as a motivator.

I must’ve missed him being cleared for all basketball activities…
I think we are moderating the volume but has been cleared for a couple weeks for all activities.

One of the most underrated players on our team when you add context. I think most people here have him starting, but I’ve barely seen anyone stating him as the reason why we will be winning games (more like a placeholder starter, that’s interchangeable with the other players competing with him to start). He’s a McDonald’s All-American five star, our third highest recruit in the modern era. If not for his injury, could’ve made a case for the highest rated recruit ever commited at UH (was #7 before injury).
And I don’t know if it’s overconfidence or him reflecting what he has been seeing in practice, but as early as last week, he’s been saying “he’s going to be the best defender on the team”, a team that has JoJo Tugler

“Placehold starter” is not the greatest way to characterize it. I’ve pretty solidly seen most lineups with him starting but he’s a freshman so it’s hard to project from that as we’ve never seen him. It’s easier to put a lot of stock in Sharp, Uzan, and Jojo because we know what they can do. Also Cenac is pretty much a guaranteed starter because the depth behind him is a lot worse and he was a higher rated recruit. I think the depth we have at guard makes it easier to take the pressure off Harwell to be “the guy” but I think most of us are really excited to see what he can do and expect him to play a big part

Kelvin says that in Saturday’s intrasquad scrimmage, JoJo Tugler played more minutes than expected. Kelvin says he’s not in game shape currently, but will be by the opener on November 3rd.

Was similar to your scouting except they say he’s a good shooter off the dribble and showed some tape on it…
