2025-2026 Houston Cougars Football

OL Coach Eman Naghavi is certainly vulnerable to criticism, but this is a new OL, with new players, learning a new system, from a new OC. Three games is not enough for the OL to operate like a well-oiled machine. What I am looking for is continued progress, run blocking, keeping QB sacks down, no penalties, staying healthy. It helps having a QB with a quick release and having RBs that block the blitz.

Experience and reps is what is needed.

Am I the only one that thinks Zeon Chriss could be utilized better? Maybe scat back or slot receiver? He clearly has great scrambling ability.

He could be because he’s really good with the ball in his hands. But Fritz doesn’t strike me as the super aggressive coach to put QB2 in the line of fire.

You are not the only one but he is more valuable as a backup QB. No one else on the roster has any QB experience. All it takes is one hit to Weigman to change UH’s season. Chriss gives you a chance to keep winning. As talented as Carlisle is, we have to temper our expectations, since he was playing high school at this time last year.

Just tuned in for the second half. Maybe I should stop watching. This is bad. Coogs are doing their Texans impersonation.

I jumped in the bath tub immediately following the OSU 2nd half TD. Got out with game tied. Thought about getting back into the tub a couple of times before overtime.

Stats support our eyes. The offense isn’t particularly good most of the time

Walls has been having a great year so far. He was a one man wrecking crew at ASU.

We have several transfer portal impact players this year. Also, I would not be surprised if Makhi Hughes transfers here from Oregon and reunites with Fritz and Nagle.

Our Defensive line has been very impressive and Walls looks better and better each game

This offense still never really hit its peak, but it was an incredible improvement from game 1, even more so from last year to this year.
