2025-2026 Houston Cougars Football

Sure. But the head coach decided that Armstrong shouldn’t continue on his own. That a co-coordinator was needed. Which videos did you see on the topic?

Florida defense in 2023 opponents converted 70% on 3rd downs and 50% on 4th downs. Now imagine watching this play out in a loud stadium and having high expectations. That would kill the spirit of progress seeing teams be so successful on crucial downs. Remember these are season averages, some games it could have been worse. 2024 I didn’t bother looking up any stats. This DC only lasted 2 seasons and Florida defense was horrible. That speaks for itself. This multiple defense makes players think before they react. So they play much slower and bust alot of coverages trying to be rocket scientist on the field. Real defenses only need a few plays to be great.

Well, I’m 100% positive we are not a “baseball school”.

You can infer that, but nothing I read said that. Like I said before there was sports analyst who stated that Armstrong was a rising star and the fans felt he had improved the defense in 2023! He also said that when Roberts came in 2024, most people were not surprised Austin left. CWF coached against Armstrong when He was at Southern Miss. and said they had tough defenses! I think he seems like good hire, time will tell. GO COOGS!

Do you remember which sports analyst?

I watched Florida more than a couple of times. The defense, especially the seconday, had a bunch of injuries. At the end of the season they couldn’t stop a hard marching band

I wanted him during the winter portal! Mcgary, Koziol, and Jayden York is a solid tight end room.

@Joprior23 mentioned we were after him hard back in December. Apparently he’s on campus this week

A receiving TE. Always a valuable weapon. Let’s close the deal.

Fwiw I saw that wr Dylan Goffney entered the portal and Weigman retweeted. Could be nothing, but might be something to file away for future reference. Old staff recruited him out of high school I believe.

Comments sound like he’s been really soft and took some parting shots at Wisconsin’s coaching staff.

You mean the comment from the random Wisconsin fans? Could be just salty cope

Update: Wisconsin football fans are as delusional as Purdue basketball fans. What’s in the B10 water? One fool thinks Phil Longo is our coach lol

If those measurements are correct, one would be hard pressed to guess he’s being brought in for his blocking skills. Those reception numbers back up that conclusion.

He’s here to catch passes, it seems to me. Anything more is a bonus.

Usually are reasons why a player abruptly leaves so soon.
We need an upgrade to the TE room so hope this guy can fill the void.

Wisconsin QB situation is meh. That could have been the reason.

I would enjoy watching a tall TE get a kiloyard in a season!

237 is a big WR. Wisconsin run the ball alot. He probably couldn’t start because he can’t sustain blocks. Houston will look to work around his deficiencies.
