2025 football schedule

Baylor should be very good and playing us at home. Tossup at best

  1. We play Baylor in Waco.

What has UTSA, Rice or Texas State done to prove they’re worthy of P4 inclusion? Stop with the politically correct participation trophy bs

We ain’t losing to Tech at home.

Next years schedule sets up nice with some early season very winnable games. Win those and then start conference play well and I think this fanbase will explode with enthusiasm they’ve been waiting for something to go crazy for. Under the right conditions, TDECU can quickly turn into a hostile environment like when Lamar Jackson and Louisville came here years ago.

8 might even be a disappointment with that schedule.

Neither school from Utah.
Neither school from Kansas.
No Cincy.
No Iowa St.

Double digits——Book it!

We haven’t beat Tech since 2009 lol
Need to break the streak.

Any inside info on when game dates might be announced?

Home: SFA, Texas Tech, TCU, Colorado, Arizona, West Virginia

Away: Rice

7 in Houston

That can’t be true. Case Keenum beat them here at Robertson Stadium, and that was only
 oh.

Never mind. :grimacing:

What has any school done to “deserve” any of this, P4 or otherwise? This isn’t about being politically correct. The BS is that UT, A&M, and Tech spent all that time favoring private Baylor over public UH, who had proven we belonged, and kept taking taxpayer funding. Same story has gone on in other states for even longer.

These aren’t free market business entities, they’re units of the education system because our Enlightenment based culture believes that freedom is best exercised by educated people. This comes from Aristotle, who promoted virtue as the means to an excellent and flourishing life, with physical health a major component of holistic virtue.

The system we have is full of corruption because we have allowed some entities to subsidize that corruption, because they don’t care about the education part, they just want to set up money printing machines at taxpayer expense. I think the real answer lies in undoing so many of the changes of the last 40 years, if we can remind people of the real purpose of athletics in a university setting.

If you want to be an anarcho capitalist, let’s see your plan, but I think you’ll quickly find that all you are doing is to push the self destruct button
because the point isn’t to grab as much cash as possible. For one thing, it would require separating athletics departments from their universities, to include the university branding. How many do you think could survive that? Even professional leagues can only exist by anti trust exemption and major public subsidy, and then they aren’t normal businesses, they are positional goods for a handful of rich people to conspicuously consume.

In the meantime, once again, stop acting like we weren’t under the glass ceiling until last year. There’s a saying: “Hypocrisy is the respect that vice pays to virtue.” Let us go back to pursuing virtue, and see whether one of those virtues, charity, doesn’t become more important than the vice of winning at all costs.

Well someone has thrown in a make-believe swc reunion mix up. So anything is up for grabs on coogfans.

Easy!! :grimacing:

I was barely still in my 40’s ( by a week) last time Coogs beat Tech. Now I’m officially a Senior Citizen. Yikees. They own us whether Lubbock or Houston. Hoping for the best, but I’ll keep my bet at $ 2.00 on the Coogs.

Eight wins would be fantastic. Hoping for at least 6-6 and a bowl. 8-4 would be quite a turnaround from 2024.

That’s crazy to think about. I’m 41 now and I was at that Robertson game.

Its not like we play them every year
Neither of Herman’s teams played them. We’ve lost 6 times to them the last 15 years and its time to break the streak next year.

Some of the losses have been self inflicted.

The losing streak ends next season

Get ready to go Benjamin Button.

Nahh, not feeling it. N i know for fact when it comes down to it, you’re only good for $ 5.00 . Tech will be a handful next year.

Edit: and as Brian McTaggert would say
" I was there ". Put it in my Top 5 Coogs events that I’ve attended. Robertson Stadium was a frenzy. Lots of meelees in the stands.
