It’s like selling a stock when the price has dropped and investing elsewhere - sometimes you’re better off eating the loss because you’re replacing the asset with something that has growth potential.

Ok, they fire him and pay a third of his buyout ($110,000). yes, they don’t have to pay him the extra $220,000, but they have to hire a new coach and it’s going to be more expensive. Maybe $600,000 a year for a good one. So now they’re paying $820,000 and paying two coaches instead of $330,000 to one.
Still, they should absolutely do this!
So who on this board calling for TW’s firing and the extra expense of hiring a new coach are writing checks to our baseball department ?

You can get some really good coaches for way less cash than 600k.
If they turn the program around then their salary will get up there but not until then.

Yes they’d have the expense of hiring the new coach but for next season they’d be able to put the $200,000+ savings from TW towards that.

That is very surprising. I thought they would get rid of him. He did about as poor of a job as you could possibly do. I think Albert’s is just cheap, especially after the Jimbo disaster.

You could hire a guy for probably $400,000. Yes, it is more money, but come on, we are in the Big 12 now. You can’t keep spending AAC money in this league and expect to win. Also, why in the hell are we paying TW $309,000? What in the hell has he done to have deserved a raise every year? If I don’t have a GREAT year, I don’t get a raise.

The baseball program isn’t getting another dollar of mine until they deliver something. They suck, and they have for a long time. I don’t keep going to restaurants that give me food poisoning.
Can I get a refund for what I’ve given in the past? I mean, if we’re going act like we have to be actively giving money now to believe a change should be made, then the AD should be accountable for what’s already been given.

We had a stud MIF still on UH scholarship not playing college ball this year.
Made the German National team and played in the WBC qualifying tournament.
I know the kid wanted to stay in Houston and was waiting to see If TW was let go….since Nunez made the ridiculous decision to retain him ,Tristan had to enter the portal.
