2025 Uniforms

I was just thinking of a red UH logo but they could take off Houston on the jersey and even leave the Houston on the helmet and that actually could work too. I just don’t like both of 5e same thing on the helmet and jersey.

Bc we’re probably prioritizing NIL more :man_shrugging:

Yeah, I’m not a fan of the collars as well.

Ugly as Rosie O’Donnell’s fat ass white helmets are back again.

White is one of our school’s colors. Candy apple red isn’t. Embrace the school colors.

White buckets!

These will look great while we are winning games.

These are going to look terrible if we lose.

I would like to see UofH change the helmet logo to mimic the Dallas Texans. A simple silhouette of the state of Texas on a red helmet.

Please, NO.

Yes some modern version of this should be the main

Such a clean helmet man. Simple clean proper color red. Awesome

I’d like to see the Cougar mascot you have as your profile picture on the white helmet.

Upchuck is not THAT ugly . . . . . nothing is . . . . .

Didnt they for homecoming last year?

There was plenty of negative comments in Feb when the basketall coaches wore a UH logo in the TX outline. People saying we represent the city, not the state

I actually like them. Particulary the whites. Honest opinion on the script v. block debate:

Trendy Houston script is Big 12 Houston.

Traditional block letter HOUSTON is CUSA and AAC UH w/ that CUSA-lingering vibe.

Just my two cents w/ outsider eyes. Doesn’t even matter if this statement is factually accurate, that’s my honest knee-jerk perception whether fair or not. I’d embrace the trendy script FWIW. Doesn’t matter if it’s Houston or Cougars to me, both work great. The script screams new, fun, urban, modern, future-focused up and comer to me…Don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re here for those reasons, NOT your history or what has worked before. I’d lean into that, particularly in football. When I see this script, I think of LJ Cryer hitting a dagger three to rip my heart out. I see myself nodding along with the pitch that we need to add Houston because they bring unlimited upside w/ recruiting and market potential. When I see the block lettering I think of a quick highlight of a sleepy game on sportscenter nobody watched live. Chunky UH logo is solid, Keep that!

(Only critique is I don’t love the stripe on either helmet. I think i dont mind having a stripe-type design there besides the plain crown… but the basic stripe isn’t doing it for me. It’s not horrible, just not really giving you any upgrade value to have it vs. just sticking with a plain crown.)

Boring uniforms for a boring program.

I have hit a new low. Arguing in favor of two thin white stripes on the helmet.

The shame…

Block Houston reminds me of Cotton Bowl days and top 10 teams

Sure, which is why I said doesn’t really matter if this opinion is fair or not. This was a tacit given admission that with the vast history of CFB and UH specifically, there was bound to be something there that those who remember the distant past would be keen on.

Taking a cursory look just now, cotton bowls specifically are you referring to the seasons 84, 80,79,78 specifically? Also, looks like the latest SWC run of awesomeness was 88,89,90, respectively.

The earliest cutoff for the era of “big time” $$$ CFB is generally considered to be the landmark SC decision in 1984, NCAA v. Oklahoma B.O.R.

If you’ve had notable consistent success for the majority of the 40 years since, this is really where the “haves” really separated themselves from the “have-nots”, brand-wise. The more recent and sustained, the better. It’s really only those teams that have the luxury of continuity to years pre-84…and ONLY because the market demands it.

My beloved Iowa State was actually really good in the 70s. Safe to say, it’s not something that really counts for a whole lot right now.

You got a restart, a blank slate. And so did we. Sometimes a fresh start can be a great thing, look at Oregon for just one example. ISU is a very modest example in a similar “fresh start” vein. It’s been rewarding and exciting in its own right, and I think Houston fball will experience that soon in a power context.

It will be great, and you should work to be postioned to capitalize on that the best you can in that context when it happens. For all our sakes. That’s why you’re here, after all. Not because of the aforementioned amazing teams, FWIW, and with all due respect to the past. (Although you could make an argument tor the one Herman team sure. There’s absolutely truth to that to some degree, no doubt.)

Like I said, I’d embrace it. The “customer” is always right, as they say. In this case, the customers are the king-makers in the form of the networks and media, not your distant past (which i admit is kind of sad in a way. But it is what it is)

All that is to say I like the uniforms lol. And if they chose to be even more aggressively future-focused, I’d support that too.
