Oregon State — W
Houston is bigger, stronger, faster, more talented, better qb, better defense.
Southern — W
@ Texas Tech — probably a loss. I think Houston has a better QB. But that might be the only position they are better at. The real hope is that because Houston has continuity they can pull off the W. Sorsby, IMO, is like the 6th or 7th best qb. I know that’s controversial.
@georgia southern — W 3-1
UCF — W. They are bringing in Barnett from JMU hoping he fixes their problems. I don’t think he will. IMO, coaches second stints at the same school rarely work. UCF hasn’t manger the big 12 jump very well. Even if Barnett ends up being good the Houston defense will be too much for him learning the new offense.
@K state — W new head coach, lost their RB to Kansas, Avery Johnson struggles with elite defenses, which Fritz generally has.
Oklahoma State — PW (probable win) new head coach, built in the transfer portal (mostly north Texas) and I don’t think either of those things work generally for a first year until you prove me otherwise. Mestamaker was really good at the g5 level. I think he struggles with a week in week out grind. I do think they are the most likely team to make a major jump.
Utah — I have yet to see a good argument as to why they will be good other than reputation alone. They don’t have a single starting linemen returning on either side of the ball. TThey do return a good to great QB and RB duo. They lost most of their offensive staff and they lost their head coach and have a new defensive coordinator. Houston has never lost to Utah. I think Houston gets the W.
Cincy — W I think they will be a mess.
Colorado — W I think they will be a mess
@wvu — W — in year two of their rebuild I think they will be better, but I think they are a year or two out. I expect them to be 8-4 ish.
@baylor — idk man. Lagway is pretty good. But Aranda. Should be a W.
Assuming health I’d be dissatisfied with less than 10-2
