I think you nailed it. What good is the off season if fans can’t go back and forth with what they think will happen.
For me, being positive, I trust the coaches also know about the upgrade in player skills and consider that in their evals. I am just happy to expect less turnovers costing TCU a game, and an OC that actually scores when they should.

You hit the nail on the head here, buddy. Most of the individual patch $$ are/will be repackaged NIL/alumni/donor money shoehorned in with some hope of getting at least some of that money back. Which every school can still go out and get, as I understand it.
Serious question for all, has anyone even tried to put themselves in Monster Energy’s shoes? How about the people in charge of making this deal happen on their end?
Gun to everyone’s head, is this deal for sure going to increase Monster’s net value by 20 million y/y? Let alone their y/y sales? And that’s just to break even on this deal, no?

Fifita and coach Brennan talk about BYU in particular… I expect that week 2 game in Provo will be a big game.
Fifita grew up a Ute. Said that he has a bad taste in his mouth after the last two losses.
I know $1.25M per university athletic department annually doesn’t sound like a lot, especially some of the numbers being thrown around for NIL for 5 stars, but considering the conference office did most of the heavy lifting in the Monster Energy Drink deal, universities are getting $1.25M in revenue with very little individual effort.

I haven’t seen if the deal precludes individual schools from doing their own thing as well. Like someone posted, potential NASCAR possibilities. There would have to be conference standard on size and placement.

And of course here comes BYU which I don’t want to bring in but damn their program is so damn good. Also they are elegant guests with an agenda of hands to help. Much like Rezclone. My reticence is because of an interaction many years ago at my house in Houston. I won’t go farther but it was a disaster. Also you have beaten us like step children at least 4 times. Until we start to even the score, when you play us, I will root against you. Other than that and ISU, I’m not sure
