I think you have a decimal in the wrong place.
A few years back 1k was the minimum for a draft pick….i had not heard anything that reduced it.
Either way, that is classless by the Braves….
Looking back at the Astros class from 2025 they had college seniors drafted in the late teens and still gave them 20k and 10k……they drafted Kyle Walker who was a senior out of ASU in the 7th round and he got over 200k….
There were senior undrafted free agents that got 5k….what the Braves did was a slap in the face….as Dana does not do that in Houston I wonder if it’s a new “philosophy “ for the Braves since Dana left.
It seems a lot has to do with the organization that draft you.

It is an insult, not sure why they even signed. I’d just sign with an independent league team and hope for a more realistic offer in the future.

That is Busch League, IMO. I know they have no leverage, and you want to keep it for your legitimate draft picks, but that is classless. The players are basically screwed and will have no bonus money to keep them afloat the first couple of years in the minors.

Pretty bad that they never had a decent pitching coach to work with at UH. There are a number of players who are doing well in the minors who never did anything at UH. They have had some talent on campus in the last few years that was never developed.
