2026 Recruiting

Couldn’t find a thread so I thought I’d make one.

Some big recruiting weekends coming up for high school recruiting.

Who are we expecting in town and when? Anyone on commit watch?

Anything on Jermaine Bishop?

Are we close on anyone? I know 247 has us listed as warm on a number of guys.

It always is, but I am hopeful that CWF can reel in some good players that can be developed into great players. If it just comes down to money, we can’t compete with the 25-40 million dollar NIL bags.

I like our chances with a few. I expect 15+ commitments next month.

Thats a real good haul to go along with we already have. We are doing just fine in recruiting, getting good players that WANT to come here and play for Houston in the Big 12.

When is the NCAA going to decide on player limit of 105 or 120? I don’t see how coaches can recruit not knowing what their limits are.

The problem coaches now have is when they get a kid and develop him for a couple of years, then he is bought by a big bag team.

Two of our best players last year went to Texas and Oregon. Those teams competed for the national championship last year while we went 4-8. Did it ever occur to some of you that players leave because they are tired of losing and want to win? We need to start putting winning teams on the field that compete for championships.

That’s probably PART of it.

But not being able to pay them the level of NIL they could get at those other two schools is probably a bigger part of it.

One reason those other teams can win more easily is because of their bigger NIL honeypots.

They can afford championship level competitive talent more easily than we can, and of course, the most talented players are going to want to be paid at that level.

Going to be a fight. He is going to continue to compile offers. We were in early.

But he’s “1000000% committed.”

He isnt going to flip! He already had all those offers, and committed to us…He should be allowed to enjoy some nice recruiting trips without half the board carrying on about it…

Iowa, La. is the home of Ryan Monceaux is it not?

If I remember correctly, it isn’t pronounced like the state, but I-O-Way

Correct

Texas and Oregon have two of the biggest bottomless pits of NIL. Add Texas A&M and you have a trifecta.

UH is his lone P4 offer. LOL. I’ve seen this playbook before. Take your first P4 offer and if he get better offers (SEC) down the road, he’s gone.
