I can’t think of any, but I can think of tail letter on a plane and a done deal.
Very much hoping we sign him and feel that we have a good chance. Dominguez and Bryson Castile would be a strong pair to bring in with Ugochukwu from the last class who reportedly has been very impressive in camp. This is my priority list:
LB Noriel Dominguez
WR Jayden Warren ****
ATH Paris Melvin ****
ATH Davian Groce ****
RB Amante Martin
OL P. Primus (#79 player in TX, 6’4, 325)
We have ten commits, and I expect we’ll add about ten more. If we can sign most of the guys on my priority list (supposedly we’re a finalist with all of them) we should probably have a top 30 or so class.
Been real quiet on this thread for a while… any news? ![]()
@Joprior23 says we should get a commitment today. I’m thinking it’s Javen Holmes. Apparently he’s down to UH, Mississippi State, and Rice.
Great! I think July is going to be a great month for us in recruiting. Fingers crossed.
Javen posted he is announcing his decision at 3:00 PM July 4, 2025.
Tucker ashford commits to Kansas State.
Am I the only one that just is not excited about anyone not coming in and vying for a starting spot? I love the portal action, but high school recruiting just seems futile.
We can’t compete with them in this nil race lol they are going to buy themselves a Natty
It must really rankle the horns that Tech is playing this game on their level. B12 is coming !
Horn’s puppet strings on Red Raider were cut when Horn moved to the SEC. I have no problem with Red Raider outbidding Horn. I am waiting for the day UH outbids Horn on multiple 4
and 5
players.
BOOM! Welcome to the Coog family Javen.
Supposedly have another commitment. Should be hearing something tonight.
UH got two solid safety commitments today. Abdullah had offers from Rice and two Ivy League schools. Holmes had offers from Rice and Mississippi St., among others. Both are multi-sport athletes. Both are good size safeties. Both players sound excited to commit to UH.
See? It’s happening.
Mudassir also was offered by Washington State. I’m usually very big on what other offers recruits have. I’ve always considered that more important than Internet rankings, which are from people who know something but aren’t college coaches. Having said that, you know Tulane’s 2019 class (the one that would have been seniors in '22, the year they finished #9 in the country) had a composite national ranking of #94. That class had two or three guys with P5 offers. So I’m going to trust Fritz. If we haven’t had a winning season in a couple more years, I will change my tune.
Offers are a factor in assigning ratings. Unless of course, the offer is from UH, in which case the unofficial rule is to drop a star.
