That’s fantastic! We’re getting a VERY high caliber QB prospect. If we surround him with a good offensive line and some talented receivers, he could lead us to the CFP.

The OL is the key to our success and that’s the hardest to build.

“I had a great time on my visit”, says every recruit to every school visit.

I wouldn’t read too much into that tweet, but I am glad he had a good time.

I’m ready to see a recruit get back from a visit saying, “y’all ass frfr”

Not a visit to us of course.

From Gator Country on Davian Gross’ Florida visit:

“Definitely, it surprised me a lot,” Groce said on if the visit surprised him at all. “I wasn’t expecting as much love as I got, I mean obviously Florida, you know they win a lot of games and do a lot of great things when it comes to the football field, but you know just getting the inside of it was very big. Especially how great the team was meshing; it was crazy to me. I’ve never seen something like that before in my life from all of the schools that I’ve been to. I’ve just never seen a team that’s so together.”

Now for you UH fans, a positive comment:

“I think all the visits I’m taking right now would be my top five or final four, with Oklahoma, Baylor, Houston and [Florida]. They’re definitely in the mix of where I want to go for sure.”

Recruiting, always, is how any team gets better.

Yeoman was a Master Recruiter. And Art Briles did a good job. And it was tough on Art. Inferior conference, inferior facilities.

Fritz may be out of the Yeoman mold. He certainly seems to be an improvement over Dana. Big improvement.

The transfer portal might make it easier to improve.

Yeoman’s forte was finding “diamonds in the rough” and coaching them up. His veer offense helped players show off their potential. Back in Yeoman’s day there was not social media and the tidal wave of recruiting information. The celebrated recruits back then still went to Texas and Texas A&M, but Yeoman would sneak in a few every now and then.

Yeoman’s strategy was simple and effective

he mined the small town super stars tucked away and he had guys such as Lloyd Wells and Elmer Redd tell him where the talent was at that UH normally wouldn’t recruit at the time

Back then high school coaches held more weight also as that’s why you had high draft picks at all levels cause they put players where they would be comfortable

He did find some “diamonds in the rough,” but in the 70s, UH often recruited toe to toe with Texas and A&M. The ‘73 class was the best in Texas with three Parade All-Americans, and the ‘77 class was ranked third nationally.

Anyone that is sober enough to get off the couch is an improvement over Dana.

ESPN, if they had been paying attention would know the strides Kei has already made at the QB position. Its like they posted his book from two years ago.
