2026 Recruiting

No idea

@Joprior23 u have any idea

Toon and Joseph are not listed as 2026 Recruits, at this point…

The list isn’t getting updated every day, I suppose?

Probably too recent to make the list.

Toon’s dad texted me this morning

Who is his dad?

They left the Jr. off his name card, it’s Johnathan Joseph.

Ya know, that guy played in a very competitive 6A district, and had some pretty impressive HS stats as a two way player and kickoff/punt returner.

I’m a little surprised he doesn’t show up higher in the recruiting rankings.

That is like asking “What color is an orange?”

Texans legend? Eh.

Seriously?

He played 14 years in the NFL, eight very good ones for the Texans.

What position did he play?

CB he’s probably the best free agent signing in Texans history.

He was a good player.

So is he going to pay to attend college and possibly never play on our level instead of having a chance to play elsewhere?

He has a chance to play for a great University for a great coach and find out if he has what it takes to play at this level.
Nothing wrong with that!

Possibly, yes. I expect he’ll get his degree and grad transfer if that happens

The staff did recruit him

So wait. Does that mean that Vijay is gone? If so, then where is he headed?

Yes Wijay left. He will complete his undergrad in Honors College and work on his MBA. He has 2 years eligibility left. The plan is to stay close as he interns at Bayou City Energy downtown. Time will tell where he ends up.

He never had a chance with the new staff, he was brought here by Shannon Dawson so he didn’t have a coach in his corner, well, except Sheil Wood. He told the offensive coaches he was the 3rd best QB the defense faced all season.

Whether he plays or not, he’s destined for success.
