Reminds me of the year our rpi was top 5 and we were sent to Arizona State.

- We were #8 selection day, but Rice was #7 so they got the Houston regional. At least we were the 1 seed at Tempe.

NCAA only passed over two teams in their RPI’s this year.
In, #51 NC St & # 44 AZ St.
Out, #28 Mercer & #39 Pittsburg.

Some of the picks don’t make sense….
In some cases they took higher RPI teams even though their Quad 1 and Quad 2 records were worse than teams left out.
And then did the exact opposite on others.

Quick fact.
Of all the Regional Hosts UCLA has the lowest fan support with barely over 1k per game.
They are missing some outstanding baseball there.

UCLA doesn’t play on campus. It’s close but Robinson Stadium is located across the VA Center and the I-5.
The stadium is also small with only about 1,900 actual seats.

One thing that surprises me is that UCLA (1900 seats) and USC (2500 seats) both play in smaller venues than UH and Lamar.
