2026 Roster

44 names on the roster. Can someone explain the new 34- man roster rule? Will 10 on these guys need to find a new home by December 1st, or will they just not be considered on the active roster.

Nearly 1/3 of the roster is new freshman, some local new freshman:

Will Van Wie Memorial HS (Spring Branch)
Connor Udland Katy HS
Carter Kimble St. Thomas HS
Max McCraray Woodlands HS
Caden Cooper Stratford HS
Preston Sullivan Episcopal HS

Other notable Freshman: Blake Fields from Florida made it to campus, was a 14th round draft pick of Arizona.

Players that did not make it to campus:

Yamvier Raul Carrero Rios: signed FA with Braves
Andrew Flores: NE Texas CC

Carson Ray 26’ from Georgia committed……uber talented SS.

Hope he stays committed after this season.

Also, Red-White series starts Sunday if anyone cares at this point.

And a team can only keep 34 players on a roster , all on scholarship.

So there are likely 20-25 who have been guaranteed a spot….with rest competing for the last 10-15 this fall….if they don’t make the cut they transfer at winter break to a JUCO or lower level.
