2026 Schedule Released

The only two home games that are even remotely exciting are OSU and Baylor.

All of those dates are Saturdays. When was the last time we had a 100% Saturday schedule?

The OOC schedule is very AAC-like. Disappointing.

For now.

That will change. We’ll probably end up playing 2 or 3 on Thursday or Friday once the TV networks get involved.

I’ve underestimated wins for a couple of years now, so I’m going with 10 wins and maybe I’ll keep my streak alive with 11 :kissing_heart:

TT should be where CO is. Why wouldn’t you want to take two of the teams that are most likely to be ranked and play them early. They should always try to make the top 4 teams schedule backloaded.

Last year the 2 Friday games were announced on March 7th.

It’s not even convenient from Atlanta with its 6 hour round trip. What a wasteful schedule filler.

The schedule sets up a great road trip possibility. Drive from Houston to Colorado game, and then drive in to the West Virginia game from Boulder, and back home from there. A chance to traverse the Rocky Mountains and Great Smoky Mountains in one trip.

Yep - Only one bye week this year (exception being those with a Week 0 game like TCU in Dublin).

It’s a calendar quirk paired with the Labor Day bylaw (17.12.4 First Contest).

I believe it’s twice every seven years that Labor Day falls on 9/1 or 9/2 and creates the extra Saturday.

In those years, you have 14 Saturdays instead of 13 which creates the extra bye.

True. WV beat us at home this year and next year they have a lot of good transfers coming in. I see this away game as a loss for UH.

Can’t lie that is trash but it’s good for me because I can go to that game! Statesboro is a 2.5 hour drive from Atlanta.

I like the media Big 12 put out for this with the vinyl record theme.

I would take 10-2. The schedule is front loaded, if we get past opening day, Tech and K. State will be tough. K. State can be brutal in October, I was at the last game in late October and it was not fun. Weather was horrible and we got blown out. You never know how good Utah, Colorado or WVU will be, but on the road will be tough.

You would think we could pick up at least one top notch preseason opponent in both football and basketball. It really hurts attendance although at least in hoops we are a national power and tickets can be sold by those who can’t make week day games…

Southwest and United fly to Savannah. Statesboro is less than an hour away. Savannah is a great city to visit.

We have been planning to take a trip to Charleston and Savannah, maybe this is the time.

Yes, but that last game at Kansas State did not make any sense. Just ask Holgerson.
I was there too. That bum gave up before the game even started. Classless.
