2026 Schedule Released

These “P5 teams were/are afraid to schedule UH” assertions are dumb. Six months after UH scheduled its home-and-home with Georgia Southern, UH also scheduled a home-and-home with then Pac-12 Washington State.

And Baylor is planning on firing their coach.

Fanduel just moved us to +100000, the worst odds they offer, The other Sportsbooks have much more conservative odds for us at +25000. +20000, +20000, and +10000.

I am not a betting man but betting $100 to win $100,000 if we win the natty does not sound too crazy to me.

I mean
it’s not a bad bet imo
 HIGHLY UNLIKELY
 but not a bad bet.

Just quizzing here, did that North Texas series happen? And I wonder why UH decided to play that home-and-home, “home game” at NRG (with Washington State)

We played them up in Denton in 2019 but we didn’t get the return game, for some reason. It may have been due to the switch to playing the B12 schedule, which had an extra conference game, so the 4th non-conference game had to go.

Or maybe it was a COVID casualty?

They lost all the starters on the offensive and defensive lines.

Davis wr —> graduation
Buchanan te —> Michigan
Bentley —> graduation

On defense they lose Landar Barton at LB who played offense and defense to graduation.
Levani Damuni lb —> graduation
Snowden nickel and wr —> Michigan
Cotton cb —> graduation
Tao Johnson ss —> transfer

Also lost HC, OC, OL, TE, WR, QB, and strength and conditioning coaches to Michigan. Plus dc in new position.

They don’t release a depth chart, but these are all starters or rotation guys

Unless there is a cancellation, UH’s OOC schedule is set through 2028. I would like to see UH play a B1G team in one of the future OOC openings. Perhaps Michigan St., which UH will celebrate its 60 year anniversary in 2027, beating Michigan St. in East Lansing, MI. Certainly one of the most, if not the most, historic wins in UH Football history.

Another interesting OOC game against a B1G opponent would be Nebraska. 2030 marks 50 years since UH beat Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl.

I was referring to the home and home with WSU. I failed to mention them directly and that’s my bad

Here are our future OOC schedules through 2031. you will notice that besides this year, we play at least one less than P4 team each year. Boise State is another G5 team we play home and home.

Not buying this. UH has more cache than GSU ever did. We should not be traveling there. We moved to P4 to avoid this type of game. If we take roadie to G6 then go to UTSA, Tulane, or even Texas St.

UH is doing better at scheduling major OOC programs, but anyone who doesn’t think that UH’s lackluster OOC schedule has contributed to lower donations isn’t paying attention.

The “Texas Kickoff” game has always been a difficult game for ESPN to fill. On more than one occasion, ESPN has convinced ($$$) UH to convert a home game to the “Texas Kickoff”. This happened in 2018 when ESPN convinced UH to move the 2019 Washington State game to NRG Stadium. (It also happened when the 2021 Texas Tech home game was moved from TDECU to the “Texas Kickoff”.)

In addition to those two games where ESPN convinced UH to move a home game to the “Texas Kickoff”, UH played Oklahoma in the 2016 “Texas Kickoff”. That game was paired with a 2019 away game in Norman that was designed as a neutral-away series from inception. Separately, UH is scheduled to play LSU in the 2027 “Texas Kickoff”. I think that game was scheduled as a one-off.

Prairie View, G Southern, Southern? Why not just play TSU or HBU?

Where the H**L were YOU when we had “Mr. Happy Hour” Holgorsen??. WHEN was his ‘make or break’?

Willie just HAD his “make or break” season

and he “Made It”.

I think some fans are behind the power curve on history being made.

2026 could be special, provided this team stays healthy

I criticized him in 2022 lol

I prefer an easy cake schedule so, we can go undefeated.

The anti big 12 bias for the playoffs is insane and if we drop 1 or 2 games, it’ll be over.

My theory is that a 1-loss P4 team will almost certainly make the playoffs. A 2-loss P4 team needs a marquee win to make the playoffs. That’s why the blue bloods schedule each other – an extra chance for that marquee win.

The two-loss teams that made the playoffs each had a marquee win: Oklahoma (win over Alabama), Miami (win over Notre Dame), and Alabama (win over Georgia). The two-loss P4 teams that didn’t make the playoffs didn’t have a marquee win (Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Utah, and BYU).

The weak point of my “marquee win” theory in 2025 is that Alabama made the playoffs over BYU. BYU had two losses and no marquee win if you include BYU’s loss in the Big 12 CCG. Alabama had two losses with a marquee win if you exclude the SEC CCG. Bama’s loss to Georgia in the SEC CCG gave the Tide three losses total.
