2026 Schedule Released

Why are we giving up a home game/profit to GaSouthern?

No game Halloween weekend will be big for attendance, that is always a day we struggle with. This is the earliest schedule release, the Thursday and Friday games are probably not slated.

The Georgia Southern Game was a home and home we booked in 2016 for 20 and 21, it has been pushed back
I imagine the contract has a cost prohibitive buyout.

When we were in the G5 conferences, we lamented about P5 teams not playing us at our house. Now that we are P4, adopting the same stance against playing G5 teams at their house seems pretty hypocritical to me. I’m glad we are doing the right thing by some of these teams.

Make or break for CWF with a favorable schedule with Tech being the only hurdle.

So UH was equivalent to Georgia Southern before we entered the Big12. Gotcha.

When we scheduled this game, GaSo was a solid Sun Belt program coming off the CWF and Monken eras. Even now, the issue isn’t really that they’re bad. I wouldn’t be nearly as opposed to a game at, say, Georgia State. But the issue is that now they’re a mid program in a bad conference in a place that’s hard to get to.

As SigEp pointed out the Georgia Southern home and home was signed in 2016 when we were still in the AAC coming off a championship in 2015 and strong start in 2016 (win over OU). It’s likely that no P5 conferences at the time wanted to do a home and home with us and risk losing to a G6 like FSU and OU did and GSU was maybe the best option we had at the time.

So we either play the game and not take their team for granted and take the W or buy them out at a hefty price. Going forward we should try and schedule home and home compelling OOC games with mostly P3 opponents.

Other than Tech, this schedule is set up for 10+ wins.
You act like we play in the SEC or Big 10 lol.

The one time I have faith in CWF, you want to be all negative.

12 games in 13 weeks is BRUTAL - add a conference champ or bowl game or playoffs and you’re looking at an NFL schedule of 16-17 games; conditioning and medical take on much more importance
no one ever likes playing at home over Thanksgiving - WAY WORSE than Halloween

I don’t care the are wins

 If after the job he’s done here in 2 years, one doesn’t have faith in Willie
they’ve either lost their ever loving mind
or
really need to pick up the phone and call the Betty Ford Clinic

I think they must have recruiting rankings built in here. It explains Houston and byu being low

In the sense that both were, and are, Division 1 FBS football teams, yes. Don’t get above your raising.

No way that Utah number is right. Their coach just left.
