I think nil is catching up to us. We have become a middle of the road program. This is no slight to Coach Lewis, the dollars are just not there to produce the depth we need to compete like we used to. In fact, I have heard that Coach uses his own funds to compete in certain circumstances.
Without looking up the final qualifiers, I am guessing that the SEC will be dominant.

I have similar feelings but USTTF ranks UH men 22 out of 187 division 1 programs. They started the year at 45. Coach Lewis has always focused on his sprinters not peeking too early. UT is around 18 or 19, but TTU and TAMU are in the top 5. The women are much lower.
UH men do have a number of frosh and sophs that are very promising. I think about 60 % of the women’s team is lower division.

I agree. Middle of the road was too harsh, I could have worded that better.
I’ve been spoiled.
Not only does he coach, but also one of the top donors to the track and field program.
Just a heads up that the championship starts at 7 on ESPN. Hope we make a good showing with the athletes that qualified. Unfortunately in the latest ratings, the Coogs have dropped out of the top 30.
Hopefully we can pick up enough points to change that!
