lead off double followed by an RBI single here in the bottom of 4th. Knocked out talented WF starter thru 3+… 5-0 Coogs
Schmitz threw 4 shutout innings… need 15 outs from the bullpen with a 5 run lead.
Now 6-1 in our favor in the top of the 6th.
6-2 going bottom of 6th… Great work by Scinta.
Victory + App on Roku is alright.
No issues so far and they
have WHL.
Odd field today.
Parts seem soggy, others very dry.
Stored 2 different places?
8-2. Top of 9th
It’d be nice to start the season with a big win against a Top 25 opponent on d1baseball.com, not that pre-season rankings mean all that much.
Considering how we have underperformed in recent years, a win against #21 WF means a lot! Then, since we have been fooled over the last several years, sustain it somehow.
Good win! Go Coogs
Not just a good win. A good win against a quality opponent.
This one win will do more for the RPI than a three-game sweep of Arkasas-Pine Bluff.
Congratulations Coogs!!!
Very impressive. I have been really critical of the baseball program. I am hoping to be proved totally wrong.
Way to Go Coogs!

Good start. Playing Boston College (ACC), Washington (B1G), and Manhattan over the next three days.
A 4-0 start would definitely be a pleasant surprise!
Outstanding job from Scinta out of the pen today. Saved some bullets for the rest of the weekend/Monday.
Great start! Maybe this will add some excitement?
That’s a great season opening win! Timely hitting, great pitching to complement.
Looks like Schmitz threw a solid 4 innings. I know it’s the first start of the season but I wish they would’ve sent him back out up 5-0 for a chance to get the win. He was at 70 pitches so giving him a chance for a quick inning would’ve been nice.
I was thinking the same thing, but he did get the win, so going four innings was enough.

I have become so pessimistic under current management that the first stats I checked were: errors ( only 1, good); BB (4, not so good but the Demon Deacons recorded 6); HBP (I did not see any in the box score I saw, if so good) and baserunners thrown out (again, I did not see any notation in that category, but I suspect the box I saw did not have a BTO column). Obviously, stats from one game are of limited value in drawing conclusions…but results better than I expected.
This is a fool me once….fool me twice deal for me….ill wait until 10-15 games played to get a better idea.
BTW, anyone know what’s up with Climie?
