And how many pitch clock violations?
I don’t think there were any.
Yeah, but going into the 9th up only 3 on Brazil is no bueno.
Great experience! Great crowd, from all MLB teams represented in this building
we should change the national anthem to the guitar solo from free bird
The British dare us to play them in the World Cricket Challenge.
Team USA is an MLB all-star team of American players, and we beat a team made up mostly of American minor leaguers, retired minor leaguers and retired major leaguers. It’s comparable to a regional 1-seed beating a sub-200 RPI 4-seed. We should be 10, if not 15 run-ruling teams like Great Britain and Brazil.
Brazil should be +100000
USA leaves the bases loaded (Cal Raleigh strikeout), bottom of the first vs. Mexico. Paul Skenes on the mound. No score
Beautiful throw by Aaron Judge from RF to get the runner at 3rd. USA had a runner thrown out at home in their last at-bat. Lots of energy @ Daikin.
DeRosa says in his in-game interview that the crowd is more pro-Mexico even though the game is in Houston. This is by far the best competition the USA has played in this round of pool play. Aaron Judge puts us on the board first with a 2-run home run to RF. The USA only won this thing once.
USA, USA, USA!!!
This game is tight
You saw a great game! Those two plays by Bobby Witt, Jr. were worth the price of admission. Wow!
That was pure art work at it’s finest
Followed immediately by a choke job for the ages, personified by a 3-run error that should have been a double-play to end the inning.
So Italy embarrasses the USA and clinches the quarterfinals.
Thought I heard them say if Mexico beats Italy tomorrow then they get the second spot out of the group?
They would have the same record as USA and lost head to head but still advance? Did I miss something?
Every pitcher they faced was on an MLB roster last year and for at least three years. They only saw one pitcher with that resume in the first three games.
It goes to other tie breaker criteria since at that point you would have a 3-way tie since all the teams would finish with a 3-1 record.
The teams that would advance would be the ones that allowed the least amount of runs.
So far this is the tally
USA - 11 runs allowed
Italy - 6 runs allowed
Mexico - 5 runs allowed
Mexico would have to win by at least 5 runs and not give up any runs etc.
It’s quite interesting really. USA will just have to sit back and see what happens
Duhhhh
, I was not figuring Italy’s potential loss in my head….i was still think they would be undefeated ![]()
Thanks for slapping me in the face with common sense! ![]()
If the get left out they have no one to blame but themselves….
They gave up 13 runs combined……
To Brazil and Italy….![]()
