I was a lock to go to A&M going into spring break of my senior year of high school, and I ended up at Houston, nothing is certain with high school kids.

I agree with all of this! I wonder if he said he wanted to come and compete, if theyād even let him. Letās say Dedan is 99% coming back. Do you want to have another Milos KF situation? Perhaps they do back off a bit with the assumption that heās coming back and both he and Reese are true PG

For a freshman, there was alot on his plate. Score, block shots, rebound. Stay out of foul trouble
What we have this year, with Gillespie + Jojo + Arafan off the bench.
2 seniors and a stud freshmen
That would have been ideal last yr.
Cenac being a starter, im fine with. Maybe my point is you needed much more consistent play around him, from Jojo and Sakho. That unit was very inconsistent for a Sampson team

Well Iām with you that this years front court looks really promising and could be the reason why we advance further in the tourney. Itās just the 3rd big off the bench doesnāt really get meaningful minutes on a standard Sampson team. If thatās not what you meant then all good but if weāre actually saying Cenac couldnāt get minutes on previous teams thatās just crazy to me. Imo he was clearly better than any bench big weāve had previously with the possible exception of Francis the year we made the title game. But that was certainly not a standard UH team.

Attend, I supported 1 team my first 17 years and that was the Aggies, I wore A&M shirts and my family were Aggies, but when it came down to brass tax UH offered me $12.5k more scholarship money, I can only imagine what is going on with these kids with the NIL being thrown around.

It was mentioned in the context that even though Flemdawg was as great as he was, and Baby Skip could be just as good, he doesnāt believe CKS would want to depend on another 1 and done talent when he will probably have a 5th year senior at PG instead.
So it appears that Sampson would rather sign a 4 star rated 50-100 who would come in a not demanding to start while bringing in an experienced PG vis the portal who has shown the abilities he wants.

Not as flashy to sign the top 100 player versus top 20, but developing players is what our staff does. And has been a big part of our successes.

I have zero knowledge of what Sampson wants to go recruiting wise. Never played basketballā¦ just football and baseball. For some reason he doesnt reach out to me for my opinion despite being a season ticket holder since 1981. Sampson has proven he knows what he is doing. College sports are changingā¦ and not for the better IMHO.but again they only ask me for money and to purchase tickets.
I appreciate the recruiting perspective joprior, Nate and 75 bring. I donāt always agree but know we will be competitive as long as we are in their hands.
