Will UH’s next point guard be son of former Rockets’ fan favorite?
Too bad nobody needs PGs anymore… ![]()
Yeah, Pitino said so.
If he can grow an inch more it’s a wrap!!! He’s only 16 so fingers crossed.

Lil skip was at the UH tech game
He’s the #1 pg on on3 Reese Alston, Nasir Anderson headline a deep class of point guards in the 2027 Rivals150 - On3
Isaiah Santos was at the game last night.
That dude can play.
That is an eclectic group of schools! Also, I saw this on X earlier today and thought it was a football recruit. That dude looks huge!
Reese Alston & Isaiah Santos may be the best one-two top Greater Houston talents since 2020. The class w/LJ Cryer & Tramon Mark.
Going to be interesting how high in the rankings Santos gets to. Alston with his dad’s pedigree & exceptional play looks like a shoe in McDonald’s All American, barring injury!
According to a source I have it’s between us and Kentucky for Alston but Pope wants him really bad. I hope and pray that Reese wears Scarlett red one day but Kentucky is known for producing NBA point guards.
Calipari is at Arkansas
Kentucky NBA starting point guards:
Devin Booker
Jamal Murray
De’Aaron Fox
Shae Gilgeous-Alexander
Tyler Herro
Immanuel Quickly
Tyrese Maxey
Booker, Herro and Quickly are combo guards in my opinion but this list is still insane. That’s 7 out of 30 NBA teams and Reed Sheppard should be starting for my Rockets. (Different discussion) If we can get Alston to stay home and play for his home town? This would be a major get. Alston is just as athletic as Kingston and still has another year of high school ball to develop as a point guard. I will loose my mind if we can get Lil’ Skip to wear Houston across his chest.
My bad still not used to the change lol
Someone already pointed out Calipari is gone, but another point it Sampson puts guards in the NBA. Sasser, Shead, Grimes, now LJ. All more recent, and he’s about to add Flemmings. Honestly, if he really want to develop and go NBA… it’s a no brainer:
Get coached up under Samps
