Always tough to tell with these guys, but he did take an unofficial about a month ago and has us in his Top 9. I can see a scenario where a number of top Houston guys take scholarships to play for Houston in a Fab 5 sort of situation. We’ve got a new arena opening in 2018 and these guys could be playing in the Toyota Center for a year (and if they stick around…in the new arena the next year). Most of these guys would be able to play right away as well with a very good point guard – Galen Robinson is highly respected in the Houston area – and Coach Sampson.
Will it happen, I think its a long shot, but you never know. Landing Fabian White is huge and Adewunmi is no slouch. Still 5 scholarships left to give out; some of those will go to JUCO guys to give us some depth, but I think we’re definitely in the conversation at this point.
I can see that happening. Juco guys for depth. I say UH probably gets 4 HS guys and 2 jucos.

He put ridiculous stats last year playing a national schedule and in the tough 6A district. I’m hoping for Febres to follow suit. Anything else after that, is gravy.

I remember when he committed. It seemed like a turning point. Signing a local high school kid whom we knew would be good rather than hoped would be good. This had been especially hard for us with post players.
