"The seven include Houston’s home opener vs. Arizona on Saturday, Sept. 8, that will kick off at 11 a.m. CT and air on ABC.

Houston’s two Thursday night games, Oct. 4 vs. Tulsa and Nov. 15 vs. Tulane, will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and air on ESPN.

The game time for Houston’s season opener at Rice on Saturday, Sept. 1, has been set for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff and will air on CBS Sports Network.

Week three will see the Houston program travel to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech in a game that will kick off at 3 p.m. CT and air on Fox as part of the Big 12’s network designations.

The fourth week of the season will see Houston host Texas Southern University in a game that will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and air on ESPN3.

Houston’s seventh game of the season, Oct. 20 vs. Navy, will kick off at 2:30 p.m. and will air on CBS Sports Network.

For weekend games past the first three weeks of the season, kickoff times will be set by conference TV partners within 12 days prior to the contest, or in limited instances, six days out."

smh! at least the tsu game is at night. What a joke the Arizona game is at 11 am.

I don’t mind the Arizona game at 11am because it is on ABC/ESPN2. But Rice at 11am for CBSSN…come one man!

the sumlin effect alone should have made this game at night. I’m pissed.

There is an overt cruelness to both 11am games at the absolute hottest time of the season

Any draw outside of Htown for UH v Rice for the casual fan with choices?
Why @11am with tons of games to choose from?
Why not 7pm? Much fewer games to draw casual fans & it gets it on at sports bars.

One great takeaway is that the games are on much better stations than past years. More ABC/ESPN/CBSN games and less ESPN News/ESPN 3 :).

LOL Tulsa has no early games on their schedule. What a joke.

Wow, Fox for Tech. I know they have an agreement with the B12, but is that the real no kidding Fox network? When was the last time we were on there for any sport? If so, two non-conference P5 games on network TV early in the season. Great chance for national publicity.

So, what’s worse: 11am in Houston on September 8, or 3:30pm in Lubbock on September 15?

Both of them will be Sunburn City, but Lubbock at least has hope for a breeze.

Really upset about the Arizona time slot, but ill take it since its on national tv

Tech game time slot is huge for us

Yeah if you get the option of being on ABC you have to take it. We should be telling CBS sports net to pound sand though.

Looks like Lincoln Riley is not happy with their early starts either. We will definitely have a bigger TV audience this year with all the big networks, lets just hope the place looks good on TV.

Do the networks strictly determine kickoff times?

yes

Is it National TV? Technically yes but 11 a.m. CT means 9 a.m. PST. Do you really think the PAC 12 audience will tune in at 9 a.m.? Some will/I will but again and again both the Houston and Arizona markets will suffer for this time slot.

Having lived on the Left Coast for awhile, the answer is yes they will tune in. Of course Arizona fans will, but if you are a college football fan it is pretty cool to wake up late morning and already got games going on.

This time slot allows the PAC and UH to be on TV at noon on the east coast where so many people live and watch.

Zero AAC games on ESPN+ so far. That is good news. Hopefully ESPN3 is the lowest on the totem pole for our conference.

Wind always blows in Lubbock. Sit up high and take sunscreen!
