Love playing LSU and Arkansas. I think we should play Arkansas every year in the Cotton Bowl the week after UT/OU. But, how did Memphis jump to power conference?
Pearland ought to propose his super league for clicks too. Iâd be more likely to go with him even if it does include Southwest Texas State.
People want to rush things into a vector that they think the Cosmos wants. I guaranty you none of these people have been asked the question: âHave you considered leaving it alone for 10 minutes?â
Sounds stupid.
Itâs not soccerâŠâŠyou donât see me proposing the Premier League should implement wild card playoffsâŠ.
Leave it alone.
This kind of system would eventually put the smaller brands on an even level with the SEC and Big Ten teams and âtheyâ (Committee) definitely donât want that. So, this is a nothing burger.
Something like this makes the most sense for the sake of travel and all of the non revenue sports. The SEC and BIG10 will never go for equal revenue like the NFL does.
Same level how? Unless revenue is shared equally for all 72 members, and a salary cap strictly enforced, big teams will still have the advantage because of NIL. Unless a way is found to equalize NIL, I donât think any system will ever be level.
Also, I donât think a 72 team league could share revenue equally, and at the same time provide a significant enough increase in revenue to make it worthwhile for B1G/SEC schools. Plus these conferences will not want to give up the power they currently have.
