A New Disturbance in the Force

Are you just glossing over what would happen to the US?

Interest Rates Soar - Bond prices fall as supply floods the market, forcing the U.S. Treasury to offer much higher yields (interest) to attract buyers, raising costs for government borrowing.

Dollar Weakens: - A massive sell-off diminishes confidence in the dollar, causing its value to drop sharply.

Credit Freeze: - Global liquidity dries up as the safe haven asset class (Treasuries) becomes unstable, potentially freezing credit markets.

What would follow - Increased Treasury yields translate to higher rates on mortgages, car loans, and corporate debt, slowing economic activity. The U.S. stock market would likely plunge due to uncertainty and higher discount rates for future earnings. American multinational companies with significant European operations could face regulatory hurdles, higher taxes, and reduced profits, impacting investment.

From a US defense standpoint, if we invade Greenland, NATO will force the US to relinquish and vacate its European bases. That would not be ideal for us at all, and benefits Putin and Xi.

I am so confused, is it Iceland or Greenland that we want? The president said he wants Iceland 3 times in his speech.

“Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland,” DJT said. “So Iceland’s already cost us a lot of money.”

Does he get what he wants? Yes.

Dufus statement of the day. US already had access to bases and I’m
not aware of any Greenland regulations that prohibit American companies from
doing business in Greenland.

So what did he get precisely ?

A show

Looks like that’s exactly what happened. Good.

That’s how he does things. Create problems, then demand credit when those problems are mitigated somewhat. Cycle of stupidity.

And as seen above…it works on a certain segment of the population

Lazard CEO Peter R. Orszag says there is a strong possibility a major event involving Iran could unfold in the coming days.

He suggests the Greenland headlines have all the hallmarks of a distraction, hinting that something much bigger may be imminent.

Orszag leads Lazard, a major global financial advisory and asset management firm.

I thought Greenland was important.

I’m sure all of this has nothing to do with the public testimony that’s coming up tomorrow.

Orszag is an Obama guy. Never been a DJT fan. He said it during a Squawk Box interview from Davos
