A New Sunflower Was Just Found in a Texas National Park—and It's the First in

Looks more like a succulent than a prototypical sunflower

They say you have to go waaay out there to find those. I read about those a few weeks ago.

Maybe it’s just me, but those plants look very familiar. Could be that there’s a similar sized plant that grows in the gravel out there.

Also worth noting that these appear to be one of the few plants in Big Bend that don’t have stickers, needles, thorns or other stabby parts.

For those that haven’t been, don’t ever wear sandals in Big Bend.
