AAC approves 8+4 schedule for 2020

Yes to TCU and yes to Tech if there aren’t big 12 refs this time. 3rd and Donofrio was one thing, but their team pretty much held themselves to victory. Both will probably decline as you said.

If TCU backed out of their game @ SMU, would they be interested in a game vs UH in Fort Worth? It seems like SMU and TCU could have easily worked this out with their longstanding relationship.

That TCU/SMU game is canceled unless SMU doesn’t mind losing a home game and go to Fort Worth.

We are not going to play September 12, taking week off to prepare for Memphis!!

I think it is already canceled from what I read (something like for only the 2nd time in the last century). I assume SMU tried to work something out. Why would UH be considered by TCU if TCU could not work out something with a cross-town team with a long history? That was my point.

No game for us on 12th

No game for us on the 12th but we play Memphis the following week. Do we want to have a break before playing Memphis?

According to this quote CougarDave found, above, Big 12 and ACC must play their out of conference games in their home state–it doesn’t say in their home stadium.

If this is right, that doesn’t mean that some of them won’t want to have that one OOC game to be a home game for financial reasons.

This article talks about B12 teams playing in their home stadiums.

Pat, we first have to select our seats for COVID spacing. They will be sending out emails in a couple of days telling us when our time slot is for the August 10-14 selction period. After that, the season tickets will be an app on our phones. I think they can also be printed from your account on line, but not sure about that one. See below:

Those who renew season tickets and opt-in for the 2020 Houston Football Season will participate in a TDECU Stadium online seat selection process from August 10 - 14 to determine their actual seat location(s) for the 2020 season. In advance of the TDECU Stadium online seat selection process, all renewed season ticket holders will be ranked and assigned a specific date and time to select their seats via the [Cougar Pride Priority Point System] (http://uhouston.fan-one.com/r/?id=h4619095,86c3305f,86d25214 ).

Looks like ESPN did not characterize it correctly. Here is the official Big XII announcement:

The Big 12 Board of Directors announced that Conference football programs will play a “9+1” schedule for the 2020 season consisting of nine conference games and one non-conference home opponent.
