1. How many times will Mike Aresco be forced to repeat the words Big 12 expansion?
AAC media days preview: Even after a surprisingly great 2015, the specter of Big 12 expansion looms
Houston capped an incredible debut season for coach Tom Herman by beating Florida State 38-24 in the Peach Bowl after earning the guaranteed access bid as the top team from a conference outside the “Power Five.” The Cougars were No. 8 in the final Associated Press poll.
“I can’t even overstate how important (league-wide success) was and how proud I was of the teams,” Aresco said. “I knew we would make some pretty quick progress in this league because everyone was committed. … I think this is sustainable.”
Once again Pray with the money link. From those hires, it looks like AAC is looking to boost it’s digital network. Preparing for that ESPN renegotiation and drop and payout.
These media days are going to be awkward as hell. No one can blame any team for leaving, but with the way the ESPN contract is written, UH leaving could possibly cost AAC dearly.
Pretty good rundown of quotes from Herman on his day at ESPN. Loved this one:
