My third wife said the same thing. Whole time she was plotting her escape with Kevin from sales.
lol
nothing has changed
He gone
I believe them as well, but he only got a part of their statement. They really meant, âWe want to be in the ACC until we can get into the SEC.â
They ainât getting into the SEC
Weâll see.
For now, yes they do. But a lot depends on future TV deal for FB with ESPN or whoever else.
Just donât see how it makes any sense.
- FSU: The SEC already has that region (Northern Florida) captured with the Florida Gators, so adding FSU would be pointless in that sense. It would make more sense to add Miami, but I donât think Miami fits the SEC culture. Northern Florida is more âsouthernâ than Southern Florida. I also donât feel that the conference as a whole would unilaterally want to add a program who expects to dominant an already-established hierarchy. FSU wonât dilute the SEC, but it wonât necessarily add to an already top heavy conference fiscally.
- Clemson: Kinda the same but different. The SC market is captured by the Gamecocks. Clemson would be expected to be a dominant program, which again, disrupts an established hierarchy (on the field, recruiting, etc.). If Clemson joins the SEC and cannot dominant the conference like they do the ACC (which gives them their value), then itâs not really a worthwhile add. Itâs more of a risk.
Who I believe the SEC will add.
- UNC: Great academics/AAU (which is valued by Sanky). Blue blood in basketball. National brand. Most importantly, the SEC has no presence in the state of North Carolina ironically considering thatâs where the SEC is headquartered. UNC also doesnât immediately threaten the hierarchy. EXCELLENT travel partner.
- Virginia: Pretty much the exact same reasons as UNC. Virginia would just be another easy peazy win on the schedule for the SEC big dawgs. They arenât a threat.
Both FSU & Clemson have the brands. They have the TV markets. They wonât dilute the revenue share. However, they lack in other very important areas. Areas thatâs will also be a roadblock in this supposed âBig Ten Interestâ.
I just either see them remaining ACC in a lopsided media deal that benefits them at the expense of others, or they join the Big 12 and help build the Big 12 to become a certified elite media conference (which I believe they could).
As Sofia Vergaraâs unelected spokesperson I want to release a statement that Sofia wants to be with me at the Intercontinental-Airport Hotel
SEC is in Birmingham - ACC is in Greensboro
