AD's Reason for Non Saturday Games?

Same issues with Saturday, this gives two more days to prep for triple option. The students will
show up.

Honestly, I don’t either.

We haven’t had a good season since 2021, and that season has its asterisk with the notoriously weak SOS that happened to line up for us that weird, first post-COVID lockdowns year.

Sounds like students are holding up their end of the bargain but the alumni?

8500 student tickets claimed which I believe broke the record from last year which was like 7k versus Rice. If it’s a beatdown they’re probably all out by halftime.

All of my tickets that I put up on Seatgeek sold. That says SOMETHING.

Anyway, it’s the first week of school so the kids are probably riding that high. Hopefully with a few wins we have it better with Colorado and Tech.

I’m sure the media agreements for all conferences have a number of committed weekday matches and a number of committed linear. Schools, conferences, and media partners work together. ESPN2 is US open this weekend, ergo 5 games featuring top 25 teams are on ESPN+ on Saturday, including OU and Florida.

Tonight’s game and the Rice game are the only games currently scheduled for ESPN+. Perform on the field and the rest of the season may be on linear.

i am down with sfa being on thursday, 1st week of class lots of first time students, i am sure its a pain for alumns and parking but probably would have a better chance at picking up new student fans than saturday on a labor day weekend

Last night was the absolute worst game experience I have had as a Cougar fan.
Whoever allowed the SFA buses to be parked where they were and then over booked the garage parking should be fired immediately.
Yes I am old and grouchy but last night was totally mismanaged.
If I had known about it beforehand we would have stayed home.
Garage was full all the way up to the fourth floor and the only reason we finally got a place was because a student left.
And don’t get me started on the hour it took us to get out of the garage and forced to go right and circle around to get back on Scott.
I really can’t believe how incompetent UH was last night.
Imagine if our stadium had been over half full?

I think they should cancel night classes on weeknight gamedays, its always going to create a problem because no matter how many times you tell students to not park there, they will still. Were they selling access to the stadium garage? I saw a weird sign that said “$60 No credit/cash accepted” sign.

I personally noticed it was crowder then normal, but we had no problems parking or leaving, short of the Houston rush hour traffic, however we got there at 5:50 and left in the 3rd, I bring my son and it was a school night.

Also Google had us come up Sampson and cross Scott on Holman

I have no complaints about the garage parking. It is going to be busy on a school night. You have to know that. I normally enter on the Scott side entrance but had to go to the Cullen side entrance. We stayed to the end of the game and was directed to exit to Cullen versus Scott. Not a problem, got up on 45 to 288 and home to Missouri City.

Got to the garage at 7PM. No traffic cops at Scott & Holman. It was a long wait to get onto campus. IDK how many light cycles I sat through, but quite a few with the busses taking up 1 lane on both sides of Holman and metro rail. There were no parking attendants to scan parking passes and the gates were up at the entrance I entered; fortunately I got the last spot in this garage area vs having to exit and get back in que for another entrance

That’s rough! Sorry to hear that, Butch.

traffic management on game day should be HIGH PRIORITY - for some reason it is not and it seems it’s DIFFERENT EVERY GAME - PS I hate the train tracks

Traffic management was not good last night and it wasn’t close to a sellout if Colorado pulls the numbers we expect next home game should be a nightmare.

Someone once told me that if your university has railroad tracks or commuter trains running through campus, then it is a sign of poor planning and bad management.

Brother. We played an FCS team on a Thursday night. That game was never going to be on ESPN.

The schedule for the first part of the season stinks.
