Something like 7 to 8,000 students showed (most of which stuck around until the end of the third quarter, it seemed). Probably would have been much less on a weekend.
And alumni turnout would have probably been similar.
And a couple of extra days for the team to ready for Rice.
I think the Thursday move was a good idea.

I agree, because we did not have a game I scheduled my daughters birthday party on Saturday and half her friends were out of town, there may be something to this… The tailgate was the most students I have ever seen. Next home game will be another weeknight game, so that sucks but I did not hate it as much as I thought I would, it has been nice being about to watch all the other games.
